Attacking? Nah, it's just not very liberal. They're not blaming a shadowy elite for the country's ills.

I guess you could argue they were more populist under Corbyn, for the many not the few and all that. I guess also Burnham has leant into the westminster elite thing with his devolution plans.

Labour's message on every single one of those groups has been "we agree with Reform that this group are a problem, vote for us!"

Burnham admitting he won't be able to deliver what the consultation process comes up with under the current promises made in the labour manifesto, so guessing on a slightly earlier generation election based on asking the public do you want to pay this new tax for social care.

Fair enough. Doesn't mean that he doesn't sometimes outsource.

It's extremely believable that Polanski/his aide saw a bunch of incoming photos of a Green Party linked event and without scrutinising each one, just hit accept on the share.

Certainly it's inconceivable to prosecute someone for accepting a retweet of a shared set of pictures that anyone could reasonably expect to be harmless.

Green figures apparently asking him to outsource and get off social media.

This idea has definitely been shared before new grauniad article on it.

If the question to the public is do you want to pay more tax, the answer is no 100% of the time, unless it disproportionately affects a small group and the majority are untouched by it.

Correct. The question needs to be something like, what is the fairest way to pay for social care.

Doesn't make them populists...they could say we agree with Reform on nationalising utiiities vote for us or we agree with Greens on a wealth tax vote for us and that wouldn't make them populists either.

is that an actual quote?

No, it's paraphrasing, but they do say each section.

Centrist (or centre-right) populism is a thing. Offering simple solutions while blaming minorities and an elite is absolutely something Labour are doing.

Got some quotes for that too?

Like "We hate all migrants and minorities and want them to f**king die" ?

Unfortunately for that to be the question every party needs to be on board. The trouble is it would not be for reform and conservative political advantage to think long term. I do however believe if Labour could implement a solution the opposition parties wouldn’t undo if they got in power, they just don’t want the blood on their hands.

I think probably the only way forward is for Labour and Lib Dem’s to come up with a unified solution and take it to the electorate . I don’t think there are many (If any) lab lib marginals now, so I think this would be possible.

Badenoch could play this well. I think all would like a solution to Care, and all must know a tax rise is needed...so let labour take the heat for putting up tax with a new levy for a Care service...and then no one else has to and that issue is kind of resolved. Reversing it would be madness. They didn't reverse what Attlee did in the late 40s, it was part of the reason they were so succesful.

At a time when you've got someone like Elon Musk saying in 5 years we will have robots waiting on us hand and foot and we won't need carers and Burnham saying we need to spend tens of billions setting a new NHS with nurse style pay grades for carers, it will be interesting to see who is right.

Labour's hope of winning is

- Burnham remains someone people wouldn't mind having a pint with in the public eyes

- Reform continue to implode

- Buddying up with the LIbDems as much as possible and accepting will be a coalition

Sadly putting in place a system to fix social care won't win them any votes, it will only lose them votes.

Musk's predictions have in every case been wildly out. He is guaranteed to be wrong.

I don't know about your last point...aging population, more and more people affected by a sh*tty social care system.

I guess there will become a point with AI where it just clicks and numbers increase exponentially. Probably after the point it surpasses human intelligence.
