So here is my thinking from reading all the rumours etc

Olivia is TBC

The 1975 are 85% possibility

Sam Fender is 75%

Fred (dropped out as a headliner)

As I can't see all with shifts, Olivia and 1975 would be perfect. Seeing Sam in Manchester but would need to really love the new album for it to be better than last time

To be fair, how many years have we had a full slate of stadium headliners, or even two of them?

Now, I know that it is down to caveats and personal choices - Paul McCartney likely could do stadiums, but chooses not to, Adele had a fear of large-scale live performances, Dua Lipa is playing them next year on the back of this, etc, etc.

But I'd be curious to know how many trios were pure stadium fare - and even then, imagine Fender will possibly do some alongside this next year to boot.

2023 is the only one I can think of. 2009 had two but Neil Young was on an Arena tour. 2010 Stevie played the MEN Arena two days after. 2011 Beyoncé wasn’t there yet. 2016 Adele wasn’t there yet. 2017 Sheeran wasn’t there yet.

21 years and counting since there was a dance headliner that wasn’t a last minute replacement - the entire dubstep and EDM eras came and went without it happening. Weird because you’d think it’d be an obvious way of keeping the SE Corner quiet until later. Sure Fred will do it after the fallow though.

Olivia Rodrigo could probs do stadiums

Olivia, The 1975 and Sam Fender would be a crazy trio compared to recent years. Way too similar, and not much diversity at all in terms of target audience. That’s coming from someone who would be very happy with each of those artists.

Yeah I would agree with this - still struggling to see The 1975 headlining next year. They also usually have some form of “legacy” headliner..

Agreed. Doesn't seem quite right to me. As much as I'd love to see Sam Fender headline, I can't see it next year. Eminem or Rhianna would fit much better, both household names with mass appeal.

They can only book what’s available. An oldies act like an Eminem would balance it a lot better but if he or Rihanna or Stevie Wonder aren’t available there’s not a lot they can do.

    • This is a perfect storm of World Cup / Recession / Rising Costs / Ridiculous Prices / Awul crop of 2026 touring artists and the prices are tanking across the board.   I've been able to acquire 3 different golden circle tickets to stadium shows happening over next fortnight for 50% FV on Twickets by making crazy offers.    I have never seen such a bad Festival headline lineup as 2026. I think the market will get worse before it gets better - but no way people are paying the prices that they start off with for some of these shows.
    • on another note, 3 weeks too early to tell weather wise, apparently they are expecting a heat wave soon but that will have probably past by the time rw comes around. Grim england this week, doesn't really set the hope too well right now but we'll see.
    • I don't think that the insider has ever got much wrong so it does seem like we'll be getting another act, rw always seem to be pretty good listening to feedback, probably why retention is so high so I guess if they can fill that final slot they will, always looked a bit strange on the schedule
    • There is a misconception that off-site camping is run by neighbouring land owners. The majority rent fields off the land owners (Camp Kerela, Pop Up, Ziggu etc), so yes a farmer may make a few quid more renting to a camping company but relationships with Michael et al mean most prefer to rent to the festival. None of the festival's off-site camping is on their own land; Worthy View, Sticklynch, Campervan East, B&W.    Holt Farm is Steanbow Farms land, so it is likely they would rent to the festival rather than a third party.
