Does it really though?  Lots of chat about him being a special guest in 2022 which obviously didn't pan out, but his tourdates in 23 ruled him out early on - and given he was on a well publicised break this year I don't think anyone was really expecting it.

TBH it's his last tour being such a monster that makes me doubt him for next year - but if Emily has convinced him to do G25 as a one off then fair play to her.

I mean......  Some point could be the legend slot in 25 years..

Be funny to see how many times the S*n run with the story about him headlining if that was the case

Yeah - I don't give the Sun story much credence.  Maybe a touch more since someone got fresh with The Thingy

Glastonbury wouldn't be Glastonbury if it had booked 40 years of pop pap.  Not a fan of pop pap.

(Yes to Hazza though)

Eh. Pretty sure the 50+ year history of Glastonbury is nothing if not an exploration of popular music trends in that time.

The homogenisation of pop music in the last decade or so where there aren't really set scenes anymore also helps.

Someone who runs a Harry Styles fan account slid into my DMs the other day. Not one of the monster ones but 30k followers.

They were taking about that Sun article that had him headlining, said they don't normally pay much attention to The Sun but the journalist that wrote it does have a good track record with HS stuff, thinks she may have a connection to his management. They also pointed out that Styles' Creative Director recently followed Emily on Instagram.

If it's O Rod and Fred, I can't see HS being number 3 but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I reckon in an ideal world they’d want an older act to sit alongside O-Rod and Fred but Styles is so big (and I say that as a non-fan) if they get the chance to book him they’ll book him.

I've been away for a month, just trying to catch up. Is the general consensus Olivia Rodrigo, Fred and another TBC? Or is it all still very much up in the air?

No - still looks like that's what's happening.  Not many especially strong candidates for the third slot, but Eminem and Stevie Wonder are the names most in focus for now.

I'm hoping this is a smokescreen, and Michael Eavis has asked them to play one last time for him, and they are secretly rehearsing for the one off gig.

And while I'm at it, David Gilmour in the legend spot.

f**k it, go full Capital summer/winter ball. Friday Sabrina Carpenter turning the pyramid lights on, Saturday the top 10 songs in the charts that day performed by kids bop.

Sunday for the locals, shoot Roman Kemp out of a cannon across lower mead, whilst P!nk zorbs over the crowd.

Hey guys first time poster - I just stumbled across your site.  I have a question have you managed to completly ruled out Rihanna can you share how you know this?

I only as doing some work for live nation and it looks like for the Rhi-Launch her London date next year may well be on the 27th I thought it was odd that it was a Friday not a Sat or Sun.

Can anyone confirm

Indeed.  He's got an entirely different demographic to the other two.

Absolutely. And he’s just that (spreads arms as wide as possible) they’re not going to turn him down. Might be their only chance of the Styles show.

She's not ruled out.  Just there's no sign of any musical activity on the horizon and we know she turned down a fat bag to play Coachella (and Glastonbury do not have a fat bag to give her)

What's a Rhi-Launch?

Lol Rhi-Launch is just what they are calling the project around her music stuff for next year -  (it won't publically be called this)

Why would you say no music activity, She has not been secrative about music activity she has spoken (as her partner) about the new album on social media. The press has picked this up as far as im aware. It will be officially launched soon enough.  Rhianna can not get away with doing a new album and no one noticing.

OK - but there've been rumours of a new album for years.

If you're saying there's a reason to now take them seriously, that it's being launched in London in late June - then that puts her as musically active, in the area and in the same timeframe as the festival, so the likelihood shoots up.

Oh im sure the album has been done for years.   Its just not wanting to release it without the world tour to my limited Knowlege.

Its not launched in London thats just when the Euro leg is - the whole world tour is only about 15 dates so its not massive.  But im sure New York and LA have shows before London though im not sure in what order -  Il see if I can find out and share something more concrete.

Thanks.  I mean if this is kosher it makes her a whole lot more likely at Glastonbury.

It also would mean that The Post was real the whole time, which would objectively be one of the funniest things to ever happen on here.

    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
    • Dream Blink day    Blink - Turnstile - Neck Deep - The Story So Far
    • The vibe for Avalanches was spectacular, but i totally understand not wanting to wait in a queue for however long it was.   I had to miss Ethel Cain to queue. Bit annoying, but I had never seen the Avalanches before (either live or DJ set) and it was every bit as joyful as I hoped.   Great little stage, either way.
