I love that she was booked for Glasto - the first two headliners needed a fun antidote - but that video pretty much rules her out as a headliner for me this year. A little too much posturing and audience reliance. I’ve no doubt anyone who goes will have a great time, though.

You didnt watch the concert film? Its the same, just in a smaller setting. What is she supposed to do. And oddly enough everyone in here creams their pants over Green Day and Billie Joe asking the crowd to scream and go ayo! 24982734 times during the concert. So double standard much?

Yeah, the shouting is kind of annoying. South American audiences always look great though, I'd love to go to a big rock gig there.

Radiohead Foro Sol Mexico City 2009 with Kraftwerk opening. The crowd was so loud that you couldnt hear the band during the first few songs so they had to turn the PA up. Thats what 60,000 people can do. Good times. And people queued in line for barricade for a week. Was front page news after the gigs happened.

I can hear 1000s of girls shouting out of tune... is that what you mean by winning every time?

Is that why Coldplay films their live concert films in South America and not in England? Might be cause ya'll are some silly sods.

But Olivia is a rock star and Sabrina is not.

No she isn't. She's a popstar with some pop-rock/punk influences. She's dressed similar to Dua Lipa or Beyonce and they aren't rock stars.

I’m not sure rock stars have a dress code/uniform

Well they clearly do, go and look at the likes of Joanne Jet, PJ Harvey, Blondie, Avril Lavigne, Amyl Lee, Gwen Stefani, Ellie Rowsell.

Latin American crowds are great. No denying that.

For this video in particular, the high pitched out of tune shouting was grating to me. Is that OK with you?

Sorry.

For what it's worth, she will absolutely smash her Glasto set. Very much looking forward to watching it.

You should probably check out what PJ Harvey wore the first time she played the Pyramid Stage.

Are we really at the point where we are discussing what women are wearing? Are we not beyond this?

I did once. Was in Buenos Aires and saw a poster for Lenny Kravitz at the Boca Juniors stadium. It was that same night, so I went to a record shop and bought a ticket (those were the days). My seat was so high up I nearly got vertigo, and I only had a passing knowledge of Lenny Kravitz' music. It was a fantastic night. It was the incredible enthusiasm of the crowd, even up in the gods, that made it so special.

I shall listen to some of Olivia's stuff, but am not hopeful. Anytime Glastonbury puts on a pop girl headliner I am unimpressed and end up going to something else, and not regretting it when checking on the player afterwards.

I would be curious about Charlie XCX, but she clashes with Neil...

Never forgot what Azelia Banks wore - pretty sure she had a fight with some Power Rangers the same day as her set.

Happy to see Performers wear whatever the f they want to adds to the character of there performance

Hehe, that was so great, wandered into the field pretty much by chance just before 212 started, a glorious Glastonbury moment

Probably like me - given this was 2013 the only song we knew but it certainly went of -

I did, different to what Olivia is hence I made the comment. I would have expected the rock 'scene' to change a little in 30 years though.

I didn't make a first comment on what she was wearing, someone said she's dressed like a rock star to which I responded she wasn't. It didn't bother me before she was categorised as a rock star for what she was wearing to point out she wasn't. That's all I cared about that she was wearing myself.

The idea that rockstars (or Female rockstars) have a uniform is genuinely amazing

Right, it's 100% predictable that The Guardian will give her at least four stars for reasons that have nothing to do with the music. That SZA review from last year said it all.

I kind of feel churlish knocking it, because I do enjoy the music criticism there. But when it comes to their Glastonbury headliners, they do appear to be knees-deep into a leyline-related bender.

Again, I wasn't the one who said it was a rock star look. But if someone's going to say it is then it's going to be said it's not going by history of what comes from rock stars generally. If there wasn't a 'rock star look' at all, then there was no reason to call it a rock star look. You've also gotta stand up and do a cover of No Doubt - Don't speak better than that to called a rock star lol. She's a popstar with some 'rockier' output and there is nothing wrong with that.

Theres definitely a rose-tinted specs quality to the coverage, which is unsurprising given their relationship with the festival, but recent-ish headliners they've given middling reviews to would be the Arctic Monkeys and the Foo Fighters.  They've also been less than complimentary about things like Cyndi Lauper and Lizzo.

This is true. It isn't pure carte-blanche love-affair stuff.

hehe, this is superbly f**king barmy. The idea that rock has a dress code? Love it. Can definitely picture some of the posters on here wanting to be the backstage headmaster handing out detentions to any (female) artists who get it wrong.
