What else could they do? There's a gig on the Saturday and it's the only venue of similar size with a late curfew.

2manyDJs moved from O2 Brixton on the 18th, to Printworks on the 17th.

Anyone else think that's a bit shitty? Now excludes a load of people who may not be able to get time off work or accommodation in time

Reschedule it to a later date so people have time to rearrange their plans perhaps?

sunday at ally pally makes it absolutely impossible if you live out of london. Its a battle to get back for the normal last train at 00.05, but the last one on a sunday is 22.47 and that would mean leaving ally pally at probably half nine ish 😄 its a nonsense

It'll need to fit in with the rest of their tour and their other commitments, maybe it's the only suitable date that they could find a venue at short notice. This isn't their fault so not really fair to blame the band.

My mate who work in the live industry has been told apparently that as it stands, Brixton will be closed until end of June at a minimum

end of june probably means till end of august then given its usually quiet over summer anyway?

Starting to worry it might end up closing for good 😞

The venue itself isn't fundamentally unsafe, it's about how it's been managed. As long as the operators can prove to the licensing authorities that they can run it in a safe way going forward, and introduce additional safety measures, there's no reason why it shouldn't reopen, even if that is under different owners.

True. Hopefully the ownership will change if needed then.
