If you’re in any way suggesting he might be putting his ticket back due to his disability,

not just due to my disability, also value for money, i can get three massive acts I'm not interested in at reading festival and download festival..

Shout out to the June 24th birthday homies! See you at 5am by the truth stage

Very lucky! I'm the 27th and had monday this year!! Not even during the festival in 2023

GNR - Lizzo - Capaldi is very impressive, not sure I'm buying it to be honest.

The story you've just corroborated?

if i have, i haven't corroborated the ridiculous part of the story that emily went and got gnr as a replacement for Taylor swift, aging rockers  with a poor reputation are the perfect replacement.

The pool of potential 2nd/3rd/4th etc stage headliners is so juicy that I'm just finding it hard to be annoyed at the trio.

QOTSA, Prodigy, Lizzo, Fred Again, Rosalia, SZA, Nas, The Smile, Stromae, The Black Keys... I'm good!

As long as it’s not them against Elton …

I think it just might be, you know. There's an element of crossover appeal between the Prodigy and GnR so I'd be surprised if they put them up against one another. Unless dates dictate otherwise, it very much looks like it's a straight shoot out between Reg and The Prodigy and for me, having needed to have made (what turned out to be) the right decision in 2009, there's no way I can miss my favourite band this time round. And what a way to bow out of my time at the Big G.

You got ninety-nine other stages and the Pyramid's one.

I feel bad for you son.

Taylor might’ve been a very early ‘pencilled in’ kind of thing that fell through as soon as she decided to tour the states first and GnR were brought in when that became apparent. Hardly a ‘replacement’ and more just what eventually ended up happening.

i've also got major obstacles to overcome to attend any festival that means i'll be stopping going soon-ish, so might as well dip out in a bad and expensive year.  its also got to feel worth it. glasto with those headliners doesn't.

it would be a replacement band into, a curated day's line-up for that stage.

I'm just not seeing the value argument at all. The gigs I have booked for this year are £24, £65 and £100 for three sizes of acts. That's over half of my Glasto ticket on three bands. You'd have to actively TRY not to watch stuff at Glasto to not get good value out of it when you could see 21 without even moving from a camping chair.

So then would you think.

Sam Smith/Queens/ Prodigy. That would put Fred Again (if he is playing) on Saturday. Would you say that looks realistic?

Surely it’s Prodigy v Arctics, Smith v GNR and QOTSA v Elton

Absolutely the most obvious one though. If it is QOTSA that’s the clash that makes the most sense.

(ducks)

Sorry

Stick em on before AM on Friday and be done with it

This was on the basis of thewayiam saying that Arctics wouldn't go up against a dance act.

We'll have less of that

Can't see QOTSA going up against Arctics or GnR. The only other option I can see is them subbing Elton or Arctics, with the latter I can't see happening.

It's not like Emily is going say when they're announced "we couldn't get Taylor so here's GnR..." is she?

The reality is that GnR have been on the festival's radar for a while, we know this because Emily literally said as much a year or two ago. We also know that the festival have given Taylor first refusal, again Emily has said as much.

We will never know what goes on inside the booking office, none of us are that well connected, we don't know if GnR were always planned for this year or if Emily went to them after it became apparent Taylor wasn't going to be around this year. We can't say for sure one way or the other.

Sorry to hear that. I’m still confident that anyone can get value from Glasto though, even if you don’t like the headliners.

It’s pretty marmite like … quite a split forum I’d say

yep, but they're not an act people have been hoping to see.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
    • Beartooth? Or are they a bit to shouty shouty
