OK, here's one.

If Elton John gets Kiki Dee and Dua Lipa out...

...who do Arctic Monkeys and Guns 'n' Roses whip out? (The latter have history for guests - Angus Young, Pink, Billy Gibbons, Dave Grohl and Carrie Underwood in recent years.)

I think GnR could depend on who's around.  A return for Macca to do Live & Let Die perhaps? I know he was last year, but that would be quite a big one and relatively viable.

Should stress the only reason I mentioned @Skip997 was for illustrative purposes and not intended as a focus.  You're certainly not the only one on that list.

For example, if I see one more picture of a hat with an Elton John lego figure on it I'm going to lose it 😉

At least I’ve avoided quarks block list so far 🙂

The world is a negative enough place at the moment. Music is one of the few places where I find my joy. I think the main thing should be try not to keep stamping on someone else's joy. I recently told some friends a story about how I learned to stop being a music snob and just concentrate on the joy that music brings into people's lives. It was an ordinary day doing one of those w*nky training days that larger corporates love sending you on. The trainer was a nice sweet woman in her 30's and she asked us to do some thing about life changing thing. Most people picked pretty boring things not wanting to share anything too personal with a group of complete strangers which is absolutely fair enough (that's what I did) then the trainer herself started talking about a song that not only changed her life but might possibly have saved her life. She went onto describe how she had been married to an alcoholic who beat the shit out of her and that hearing this song helped her recover her small amount of self esteem and gave her the strength to walk away. That song was by Westlife (the name of it escapes me). My very initial reaction was to sneer Westlife! but then I had a word with myself and thought who I am to do that. That song may have saved her life. It helped her rebuild her life and made her the nice sweet woman in front of me and not the shell of a woman that she was in the process of becoming and so I decided that I'd never be too sneering about anything else again (sometimes I fail I'm not perfect - but I do keep trying) It's important to remember just how important music can be to people even if that music is not to our taste.

It's also worth adding that World Of Our Own and Bop Bop Baby are, well, bops.

I think I was scarred by my wedding day on the lovely island of Rarotonga when the guy who was doing my makeup giving distinctly wedding planner from Father of the Bride vibes said you are Irish Yay and then went and put a Westlife cd on. I felt like he hadn't really captured my spirit 😄

Personally I’m not a huge fan of acts wheeling out special guests, Infind it distracts from the main set,  you’re headlining Glastonbury your material should be able to stand up without help.

Kendrick for instance pulled off the perfect set last year culminating in *that* women’s rights mic drop moment. It was stunning. Yet there were loads of people around me confused and bewildered that he wasn’t bringing out Eminem or Dre.

Depends on the act I think… If I was to watch AM I’d be happy with no guests but I sincerely hope Elton brings out everyone!

Yeah if an act is known for their collabs and bring one or two out that’s fine. But for instance I felt Macca wheeling out Springsteen and Grohl was a touch unnecessary, especially as Bruce did one of his own songs!

I'm largely inclined to agree. Guests when relevant or appropriate can add a huge pop, but it can also smack of an act not having the material or the chutzpah to carry a headline show.

Memory lets me down, but did the Stones have anyone? I don't think they did?

I find it incredibly narcissistic when people need to tell you they don’t like something, or worst still, don’t care either way. It’s all very “everyone needs to know that I don’t like this!”

Not liking things is fine, but there’s no need to constantly tell everyone you don’t like something over and over again. Especially when everyone else is talking and getting excited for something.

Try to just skip ( no pun intended) over them. On these type of places we have no idea who the person is, what they are going through, where on the spectrum they are etc etc.

We often judge posts on how we are, we are all different. Just ignore and move on.

I need to tell myself this many times

also just because you have not heard of or could not name songs from a band, does not mean they should not headline as some people seem to imply.

i couldnt name or even say what the 1975 sound like, but still think they could headline.

Prince is also a great example, someone i thought was just big in America like some country artists

Yeah this is my stance. I know hardly any songs by Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish or the 1975, but that means I don't feel qualified to say whether they're shit or not or shouldn't headline. What I find weird is people saying they've never heard a song by a band but simultaneously saying the band are shit and shouldn't headline. How can you have an opinion about something you haven't heard?

“I don’t like them therefore they shouldn’t headline” is the default position for many on here.

Yeah I don't block anyone - I read this shite uncensored, just as nature intended.

I can enderstand folks not appreciating people piling in to diss an act on a thread about them, but if its headliners then surely a range of views is allowed?  Especially before the poster is out.

If you think someone is poo pooing the poo poo, then give them some open questions and ask what they would prefer to see maybe?

Unnecessary perhaps, but Glory Days was one of my favourite ever Glastonbury moments.

    • It can take around 30-45 mins to walk from the arena back to the transport hub with the crowds, depending on density. Allow even longer in poor conditions. I don't think you'd need to leave Linkin Park early though, you have at least an hour and 20 minutes to walk to transportation. I certainly wouldn't leave early in your shoes, knowing I can just walk to the airport if needs be (2 mile walk and another 30 - 45 min walk depending on your walking speed and conditions.) Maybe just don't linger too long for the toilet / food after Linkin Park have finished.  It will definitely make sense and all just fall into place on the night, don't worry too much and have a great time. The very worst that can happen is a little extra walking to the Airport Skylink bus stop, as those Skylink busses are 100% 24 hour. 🙂  GFS, ICON and ECMWF are ALL in agreement on the latest runs.... After a mildly moist Weds and Thurs, high Pressure building from Friday... Lets just hope they continue to agree... ☀️☀️☀️
