Many thanks to whoever posted the 50% off code here. Used it yesterday to book for our family and it worked perfectly.

It's an excellent line-up, especially for that price! Most looking forward to Jockstrap, their album is brilliant and should win the Mercury Prize. Also really looking forward to Blondshell (great live), Gretel Hanlyn, Alex G, Viagra Boys, Black Country New Road, Osees and more. Best of all the weather forecast is great!

Hey guys , random question but a friend of mine can’t make it tomorrow and has given me her Wide Awake ticket.

Does anybody know if this is going to be an issue with my name not matching the one on the ticket ? I have valid photographic ID & everything of course but I just don’t know if the different names would cause them to refuse me entry or something, just trying to avoid any hassle at the gates.

I saw something from WA earlier saying it didn't matter if name on ticket doesn't match your ID, you just need to bring your own ID. From past two times I've been, the security don't care about names on tickets. They just scan the code and you're in.

A great day, helped by the superb weather! Plus good food and an easy journey home.

My highlight was Jockstrap - they were superb and the amosphere inside the tent was fantastic. They needed a bigger venue.

Nuha Ruby Ra was really good, very charismatic and dramatic. Also loved Black Country New Road, Gretel Hanlyn and the Osees. Model/Actriz were entertaining and powerful live. Enumclaw were enjoyable, but also lacking in variety, 30 minutes was enough.

Not so taken with Alex G (bit dull live), Butch Kassidy (bit one-note) and Viagra Boys (better on record), but agreed, the Viagra Boys comment on Bearded Theory was highly amusing.  A few technical issues with Gretel Hanlyn and BCNR were a shame, but they didn't mar a great day out. I think the capacity's 25,000 people, and it seemed a touch crowded in certain places at the end, but not overly so.

First time I've been and was a great day.

We got there early, were about 10th in the queue and the scanners couldn't read anyone's Dice tickets. Presumably this got fixed or there would have been a huge problem getting people in?

Decent lay out, easy to navigate although felt pretty crowded in some places during the early evening.

I thought the sound was a bit erratic, seemed like a few bands started late because of it and then had continued issues throughout their sets.

I saw Mary in The Junkyard, JJUUJJUU, CLAMM, A Place to Bury Strangers, Model/Actriz, Arooj Aftab, Butch Kassidy, O., Underground Youth, Gilla Band and Osees.

Osees were immense as always, had a great time down the front leaping around. Enjoyed seeing the Butch Kassidy bassist come flying over me while crowd surfing during the first song.

APTBS were the most entertaining band of the day, absolute carnage with the destruction of the guitars and a performing a song in the crowd but with great music to back it up. Their set went by in a flash.

Model/Actriz were very good, enjoyed Butch Kassidy too and will definitely watch them again at Green Man.

Not sure what happened with crowd surfers during Gilla Band. Security seemed to hugely overreact to the first few, physically dragging them out the tent and behind it. They calmed down after a while and let people back in right by the stage but it was a bit unnecessary for a while.

Getting out via the Brixton exit was a bit poorly organised. People ended up climbing over fences in the end as we all ended up stuck and stewards weren't directing the crowd at all.

The crowd were fantastic. Seemed like End of the Road but in London.

Will definitely be back again.

Surprised by the positivity in the comments here to be honest. Thought it was pretty poorly organized over all.

Was about a 40 minute queue to get in at approx 2pm. Quite frustrating to then see less than half of the entrance lanes being used.

Some odd decisions with stages. Jockstrap should've been on a far bigger stage.

Sound in general very poor. Seemed to take them an age to get Alex G in any way listenable. Sound for Tirzah was laughably bad. Also a bit of an issue with sound bleeding from one stage to the next.

Anyone know what the controversy was during BCNR's set? Was there an issue with what the Oh Sees were doing on the side of the stage? Weird seeing them have that group huddle mid set.

Positives were the crowd being sound, great weather and best band of the day was comfortably Gilla Band.

It was awful. We left early on because of it. Wasn't much better for Oneohtrix either. Just too quiet and flat.

It's a nice festival. It felt a little busier than previous years, which isn't great as a punter, but it's a positive sign for the festival.

Queues to get in were daft around 2pm. Security guy said Dice barcodes weren't scanning and stuck their customers in some sort of festival prison while they got that sorted, then they couldn't let anyone in until some ambulances arrived.

Decent food and beer choices, and the fact I only live 10-15 minutes away makes it a more pleasant experience. Lineup was a bit disappointing for me personally, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

My dice ticket didn't scan at 1pm but they just let me in. Zero queue at that point.

I really enjoyed the day - third time I've been to the festival.

Most enjoyable acts for me - Blondshell who was superb, Model/Actriz who blew me away, and Bug Club who were a massive ball of energy and amazing musicians.

Also enjoyed BCNR but felt the set dipped in the middle - a couple of weak songs.

Absolutely hated Gilla Band. The singer was so annoying - I left after 3 songs.

Saw bits of many other acts, totally great day out and a bargain at £29 early bird ticket.

What happened with Viagra Boys at Bearded Theory?

I'm not sure anything happened, but they just didn't like it. I didn't when I went either and thought their comments funny and accurate. I'm sure it's a great fest if that's your thing but it's a bit too real ale/New Model Army adjacent for me.

To speak to earlier comments on Tirzah, the sound got better by the end but it wasn't a great performance and she seemed pissed off throughout so perhaps something wasn't there for her set.
