The undercard isn't quite as big a "Must see" for me as the 2019 version of this was, but for God's sake I hope the sound system is better given how poor it was on the two biggest stages for that visit.

Least JARV IS in the tent was suitably meaty. Even if the acts of festival timing meant I had to sack off their last few songs to get a good spot for Interpol.

It was good for me too at the strokes

key thing is to move about - think i've been very lucky as i have never really had any issues

if it wasn't full of talkers the sound wouldn't matter as much anyway!!

Sound has been good for me whenever Ive been, but the talkers at Foals in 2021 was incredible. Moved around a few places, nothing inproved. Real put off.

Think that's just the nature of the beast with park gigs in London. It's why I rarely have enthusiasm for Hyde Park or Finsbury Park shows.

APE is consistently worse than Finsbury - not sure about Hyde Park but its quite deep in the park so probably ok i'd assume

Strokes day was notoriously bad last time and Foals had some issues last time they played, but I didn't really have any issues last year and I went to a few of the days so not sure if they've found a sweet spot for it. It's a site that benefits from moving around a bit to get the best sound.

It's in a residential area and so I imagine there's a lot of watching dB levels as the evening goes on.

Allegedly its one of the most sound restricted festivals in Europe according to someone from the industry

Are there any prices for Field Day announced?

I tried to buy tickets last week when Aphex was rumoured, and there was a bug on the website that said 6th release tickets were £99. Although that may have been for last year? It's hard to say. Really hope it's less than that, I'm absolutely buying tickets with that lineup

Seen this article: https://www.clashmusic.com/live/aphex-twin-is-headlining-field-day-2023/

Says it's from £45 (+ fees, I imagine)

The Strokes was 81 quid in the amex presale today for general admission. Seems about right these for that kind of event.

£1 cheaper than last time!

It says it starts at 3pm also
