Somebody call up The 1975, their time is now 😁

No time is theirs. I thought they would headline a few years ago but I think they've peaked at this point.

Eh, people still talk about Florence + The Machine as being big enough. If they are, so are The 1975.

Flo, 1975 and Taylor Swift. The most perfect imaginable headlining trio for people who were born in 1995 and stopped listening to Radio 1 in ~2015 (me).

I see that they've also done Hysteria, Two Steps Behind and Pour Some Sugar On Me together too! Where did this Taylor and Def Leppard Love-in come from?

Def Leppard is Andrea's favourite band. You can guarantee that Taylor was raised to a soundtrack of melodic rock.

Much as I imagine there is with Lady Gaga, there is a very good traditional rock show performer in Taylor Swift somewhere - a frontwoman who could simply strap on or sit down at an instrument and lead a tight six-piece through a blistering set without the traditional trappings of the modern popstar stage spectacular.

The cat line 🤢 She can get away with the awful ‘sexy baby’ line on Anti-Hero because it only appears once and the rest of the song is strong enough to overcome it. But the cat line is toe curling. Whole song sounds like the worst bits of Reputation.

Not sure if I'll go for the tour next year. Dependent on dates, but also one where I would like to see the setlist before committing, in a typically risky prospect.

Yep. Girly needs to keep her ticket prices reasonable for this touring cycle unless she’s going to promise a certain proportion of old stuff in the setlist.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
