Taylor swift

Having given the full once-over now, have to say... Lavender Haze might be the weakest on the record for me. It'll do gangbusters on streams over the next few weeks, likely crack the top ten over here, but there's far stronger material on there in my opinion. Each to their own though!

Have I missed an interview where she has disavowed We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together? One of her all-time biggies - survived Red to make the tour behind 1989, and then reared up again as part of reputation-era setlists, even if in a truncated form.

Can we talk about the 'sexy baby' lyric. I find it disturbing but think i'm supposed to. What do you guys think it means?

I'm assuming it's a comment on a lot of the singers nowadays being so young and preyed upon inappropriately in the media. But...taylor being a monster on the hill. is she doing hunting? Plz help.

Karma is one of the standouts for me!

The cat line đŸ€ą She can get away with the awful ‘sexy baby’ line on Anti-Hero because it only appears once and the rest of the song is strong enough to overcome it. But the cat line is toe curling. Whole song sounds like the worst bits of Reputation.

Absolutely - I listened on good headphones last night and the production is superb.  Big respect to Jack Antonoff - BFIAFL last week and now this - the production is incredible on both albums.

Can tell he worked on both concurrently. Midnight Rain is pure 1975 album track vibes.

Yeah, i found the cat lyric a bit jarring.

I thought one lyric of Karma was 'Grease in my hair at the weekend'. Disappointed when i found out it was 'BReeze in my hair', it was the one time i found myself relating with Taylor.

Fri 23 Jun - ?
Sat 24 Jun - P!nk
Sun 25 Jun - P!nk
Fri 30 Jun - ?
Sat 01 Jul - ?
Sun 02 Jul - Blackpink
Thu 06 Jul - Bruce Springsteen
Fri 07 Jul - Billy Joel
Sat 08 Jul - Bruce Springsteen

3 dates left to fill. Doubt they'll run Sunday 9th, as it would mean 4 shows on a weekend which would rile up the locals further.

Hmm, thought it was Elton, Take That and Adele

The person who always gets the info said they wanted to book Taylor but we’re waiting on her plans.  Maybe it just didn’t fit anymore

Each to their own! Just a catchy, fun song for me. I don't get repulsed by individual song lyrics in that sense.

Definitely.

Dear Reader also gives me strong 1975 vibes

Listen to "Me" from away back in 2013 (a favourite of mine).  Dear Reader has the same vibe, but with a combo of Jack Antonoff production, Taylors Vocals, and it even has some "Notes" elements to it.

In other words - perfection.

Yep. Jack has rediscovered his magic touch for sure.

I see that they've also done Hysteria, Two Steps Behind and Pour Some Sugar On Me together too! Where did this Taylor and Def Leppard Love-in come from?

Was a TV show, over in the states? They did a few of hers too.

if Anti-Hero is the lead single then that’s the first time since 1989 where the lead single hasn’t been one of the weakest songs on the album in question, so that’s nice.

Absolutely. Pleasingly strong cut out of the gate.

It's easy to see why JA has had his fingerprints on Being Funny in a Foreign Language next to this. The more I listen, the less it feels overtly like a Taylor Swift record and more a Greatest Hits collection of his production work with her, Lorde and all the rest. (No Bleachers, mind.)

Although look what you made me do isn’t the best song on Reputation, it was a very good lead. Did exactly what she intended and really gave us an idea of the era

It certainly killed off any momentum from 1989 if that was the intention. Made her very briefly a laughing stock.

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
