Declan McKenna could do the thurs entry, be really good in that slot

If they are struggling for headliners i'd like to see declan headline one of the main days, i'm sure he'd smash thursday and it would be a boost for him but he deserves to not forever be an early evening act

What do we think of the chances of Noel Gallagher? He is doing Pennfest Fri 21st July and South Facing Festival Crystal Palace on Friday 28th July.

So we know he is active and playing festivals around Truck, so surely there is a big chance of him turning up at some other festivals at that time of year. If not Truck then maybe Y Knot, Tramlines or Victorious.  It seems very unlikely that he will not pop up at least one of these.

With Rex Orange County seemingly in the clear could help solve the headliner issue for truck, y not etc? Not sure how they’d feel about booking him in such a prominent slot after whats happened but he is the right size for it I think.

I would say virtually 0. Truck is obviously now 80% twinned with essentially Tramlines & Victorious, and so the chance of heavy acts being booked across these fests is now very low.

Curious as to how that's theoretically progressed given Don Broco and You Me At Six were both there in 2019, and both had a decent array of riffs. Plus they were booking Royal Blood as a 2021 headliner, even if that iteration was binned, and Foals do have a few big heavier rock songs in their arsenal so have that sort of influence in parts.

I think it's possible, if perhaps more a whisper of a presence than a full-on one. Like maybe 2/3/4 at most.

I think Soft Play (prev slaves) will be there

They have a good relationship with Reading which is obviously nearby so could rule them out. Safe bet if not at Reading though - will be at one or the other i think

Can't see that having an effect, they festivals aren't in direct competition and they aren't a big enough act for reading to secure "exclusivity"

i know this might be a bit out there as they're an electronic band but underworld are playing on the 20th and 21st of july in the uk near truck fests location, think they would be a wicked booking

I think if they were to go out there a bit more and get an electronic band, it would be a slightly bigger one. I think Underworld would be a weak headliner / a strong sub which both seem unlikely to me.

I don't think Underworld are mainstream enough for Truck. A well known dance pioneer but somewhat kinda underground.

Chase and Status or like is more likely.

Chase and Status brings in a different crowd, definitely not.

Prodigy would be a good fit but they are ruled out

Excuse my ignorance - first time at Truck this year. What is the crowd like based on that comment?

We did Victorious last year - Saturday was one of the best days I've had at a festival. Sunday however was horrific. Teens off their t*ts and loads of mainstream crap.

Truck is very indie, chase and status bring in a lot of dnb fans inevitably who just aren't truck's main focus
