As TWO said though, there is significant rainfall around, but at the moment it's further NW, fingers crossed that it doesn't shift for the worse. 🤞

Isn’t that referring to that awful 12z?

It's referring to today's ECM 12z, which is the latest one available (and the same one TWO were using in their Twitter post.) I don't see today's 18z anywhere, still on yesterdays...

The GFS 18z is updating now though. 👍

Ok, let's see where the 18Z takes us....

GATES OPEN

Still some heavy-ish rain around on Sunday. This continues to be consistent.

On Tuesday, there is GOOD NEWS! Most of the heavy rain that had been appearing on recent runs now tracks the east of the site, as seen on this chart.

image.thumb.png.fc591110d7593a080387268479e45a3a.png

There is a small amount of rain on Tuesday afternoon/evening, but nothing like what we had seen.

When the gates open on Wednesday morning, it's more good news.

The are of low pressure we had seen in the last two runs no longer materialises. Most recent run is on the right.

At 9am, it's completely dry for gates open.

image.thumb.png.1096c49e59633e9b924ee1c117fd3089.png

Through the day on Wednesday, it's completely dry with highs of 21.

image.thumb.png.27a35a9bf516eceb4f0a2b875b28e621.png

THURSDAY

Completely dry, highs of 24. Is that a finger?

image.thumb.png.15c44683ffd87b956c8e5c3b60ee704c.png

Yep, the latest run (right) shows clear signs of a fingering.

image.thumb.png.168392d5cab23fb307b1e063a8b5cf4e.png

FRIDAY

After some light rain overnight (midnight to 6am) the day starts dry, and it's completely dry the rest of the day, highs of 23.

Not certain at this stage the finger really is going to build in.

image.thumb.png.198754670a119b8536b95bb08fe930c9.png

SATURDAY

Another completely dry day, highs of 22. No finger, but high pressure in command.

image.thumb.png.104396d131ab087bb7900382d8516b5d.png

SUNDAY

Completely dry, and highs of 21.

image.thumb.png.ff0f80eb14780e6263a4444340012500.png

SUMMARY

This is very similar to the previous run.

The only changes are less rain on the Tuesday of the festival, and slightly more overnight Thursday into Friday - but the difference is negligible.

Another great run, with warm temperatures. Let's hope this continues!

Also very similar to the recent ECM 12z, we're starting to see agreement now and persisting patterns. This is good news because these forecasts aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination.

Still a bit of a knife edge though, that horrendous amount of rain hitting Northern Ireland and Western Scotland could easily shift in the next week. 😕 BUT the trend has been that it's moving further Northwest over the past few days' runs, so it's looking good. 🙂

Also, the ensembles look great... Out of 30 permutations, only a couple are predicting anything more than 10mm... Which is brilliant. And nothing significant at all after Tuesday just light showers. (5/6mm Tuesday is fairly light to be fair.)

Will let those more qualified give the full update, however the 00z looking good.

Less run in build up

light showers Wednesday.

Then the rain, as if by magic, completely disappears from the radar Thurs - Sunday! Proper heat coming back in for the weekend too!
