  1. I think it's quite distasteful to posit a moral argument based on LGBTQ+ and women's rights in a country that essentially functions as an apartheid state, with 'non-citizens' who are frequently murdered, have their land stolen, and their houses destroyed. But that's as far as I'll go really, clearly you don't see it as apartheid and so we probably won't ever agree. What I will say is the reason that I referenced the West Bank in my last post is that Hamas don't even exist there, and yet you still see innocent Palestinians murdered, their houses destroyed, and their land stolen on literally a daily basis.
  2. I think the best way of freeing the hostages is carpet-bombing civilian architecture in the world's largest open air prison. Do we need to state 'free the hostages, down with Hamas' every time we call for a ceasefire in the West Bank?
  3. No food or drink included with Ladbrokes Live unfortunately, although you can order (expensive) drinks to your seat.
  4. She didn't 'question medical practices', she said puberty blockers were a pharma conspiracy to make money, which is absolute and total bollocks.
  5. What do you think about adults who want to transition?
  6. As a counter balance to this, the current NHS waiting list to be seen by a gender clinic for your first appointment is five years. Before being proscribed puberty blockers, a child is assessed by all of: clinical psychologist child psychotherapist child and adolescent psychiatrist family therapist social worker This team will carry out an assessment over 3 to 6 appointments over a period of several months. As a result of this intervention (post waiting list and post assessment by multiple medical professionals from various disciplines), a child might be proscribed puberty blockers. Let's stick to the facts, shall we?
  7. She didn't even need to go back on what she said - a "I understand the reactions some of you have had to what I said, it wasn't meant to be for public consumption, nevertheless I am entering a period of listening and learning and in the meantime I want to step out of this debate entirely" would have been a pretty sufficient response. It's also the one any PR or agent worth their salt would have told her to say. Instead she doubled-down and denied that she had ever targeted LGBTQ+ people with her music. Couldn't have gone with a worse response really.
  8. The Ally Pally gig has been on sale for about three months though - since well before she came out as a TERF.
  9. Graham Linehan is a full-on extremist who was banned from twitter for threatening to kill several female comedians, he was only allowed back when Musk came on and let all the really extreme people back, and who regularly 'outs' trans people by doxxing them with pre-transition photos. Even being willing to be in the same room as him is guilt-by-association, it's like providing a nice quote for Oswald Mosley's book. He's fathoms worse than Roisin or any of the other celebrities are. He's too extreme for JK Rowling, who (sensibly) avoids any association with him at all.
  10. Personally, I would rather it debated using data and expert opinion by medical professionals, which, like any other medical treatment, it has been for decades and continues to be. The evidence shows time and time again that you massively reduce instances of suicide and self harm when you proscribe puberty blockers to kids with gender dysphoria. In addition, she put forward a total conspiracy theory that is provably false. Puberty blockers do not make pharma companies huge profits, they are out of patent and so make very little money for the companies selling them. They are proscribed by medical professionals as the alternative is self harm and suicide.
  11. I mean it does if you assume every gay club is owned and operated by men, I guess. Oh, and if you completely ignore the L in LGBTQ+. Oh, and if you completely ignore the fact that cis women are most likely to be pro-trans, and of these cis women cis lesbians are overwhelmingly pro trans and strong allies. But sure, if you ignore all of that, then yes, it is 'women know your place'

No it's just their attempt to get AEG to back down.
  13. Yep, it is a song that would have absolutely stormed the gay clubs me and my friends go to if she had kept her mouth shut. Can't see it getting played in a million years in them now.
  14. IICON is a fantastic stage marred by bad booking, but in general the whole Block 9 area is leaps ahead of the rest of the SE Corner. Shangri-la and the Unfairground in particular are really showing their age.

The weight-based criticism is tenuous as f**k.
