Looking at the wording on the Heritage Live site concerning his Sandringham show, it does leave some room for manoeuvre - as long as it's not a headline slot...

The biggest obstacle to the Robster is not the exclusivity clauses,which are worth next to nothing these days, but the fact he’s playing in Norway the night before.

I’d say this rules him out, doubt he’d want to play second fiddle, especially as they’re not currently talking.

Yeah on the bright side it would take a bit of pressure off the day, not having a "must see" as a legend, trying to work out tactics for getting a good spot, what time to get there etc!

Only other name I’ve been thinking is Eurythmics given there was talk of them touring. That was a couple of months ago and it’s been very quiet since then.

Yeah.... I guess we can't rule them out until it becomes clear whether or not they're actually active.  Wouldn't be my top choice, particularly with Duran Duran in contention.

Blondie are like Madness.  On paper they've got the songs but are underwhelming live and have played here, there and everywhere so often that there'd be nothing remotely special about the gig.

Sorry to go down the 80s rock sinkhole, but hasn't there been previous chat of Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and Kiss? Can see the first two doing it, would be great fun and are very Radio 2 these days. Kiss need the production so wouldn't be them imo.
