GnR have brought out Carrie Underwood quite a bit over the past year, can see her joining for a few songs. The Damned ate also playing that weekend and I wouldn't be surprised if they joined for a cover of "Down on the farm". Elton will bring out Harry Styles or Dua Lipa imo and that will be it.

Sorry to go down the 80s rock sinkhole, but hasn't there been previous chat of Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and Kiss? Can see the first two doing it, would be great fun and are very Radio 2 these days. Kiss need the production so wouldn't be them imo.

Seen AM twice, GnR three times and Elton three times, with a fourth due in April (his long delayed "farewell show in London - we have had tickets for about four years!) I loved GnR as a kid and never thought I would see the day when Axl, Slash and Duff share the stage again. I feel that I owe it to my younger self to see them again. The show in 2017 at the London Stadium was the best stadium show I have ever seen. The crowd was amazing, Axl sounded good (to the surprise of everyone) and the band was tight. Genuinely brilliant. A year later I saw them at Download and they were on time, again, and it was really fun, although Axls voice was slightly worse than 2017. Last time was at the Spurs stadium last year. They were late but the venue was a mess in terms of getting in. It started shakily but by the end it was another great stadium show. In short, trust that it will be a one off, great fun sing along in the field and everyone will have a good time. They are a slick band these days. Elton - well, I am going for the moment, really. If it wasn't his last ever UK show I would probably head elsewhere but that is only because I have seen him before and will do again in April. It will be a lovely way to round off the festival. AM - Their latest setlists do not inspire me, the weakest of the headliners imo and I am hoping that Bon Iver, Rina Sawayama or The Prodigy are playing elsewhere at the same time.

I can't go to Primavera this year due to other commitments, but I have been lucky enough to have attended seven Primaveras in Barcelona (including both weekends this year). I have to say, the Porto edition seems much more appealing and in line with what I want from Primavera in 2023. Smaller, still great acts, seems more consistent in terms of bookings and also €150 cheaper. Was not bothered about missing out on Barcelona in 2023, feel a bit gutted I cannot do Porto to be honest!

Dammit, just checked and Rancid are at Festivals all over Glastonbury weekend ;-( Hopefully the Bronx can make it though.

Sooooo, one of my best friends works in a senior position at BBC Radio and has always given me info on gigs, festivals etc months in advance. They genuinely know everyone and going to gigs with them is a nightmare because of the numbers of people saying hello! I have been probing for info on Glastonbury and they have had no idea, but last night they sent a text saying they had been out for lunch with someone on the inside who said the remaining headliners were Harry Styles and GnR. A caveat - they said that this person *may* be wrong, but never has been before. My contact was shocked as they thought there would no doubt be a female headliner in there somewhere. I of course thought Arctic Monkeys were a shoe in but maybe they aren't? Unless Harry Styles is supporting one of the headliners? My biggest surprise on it was the idea that GnR would play - a headliner trio of Elton, Harry and Monkeys seems much more Glastonbury tbh. Anyway, just passing on information.

So where is this Quimera fella going to be on each Thursday...? 🤔
