Given crossover is anticipated between Sziget and Reading and this week has line-up announcements, that should if nothing else give us a few clues.

I have on good authority that the announcement for the lineup announcement will be made tomorrow. Announced at Friday 08:00 BBC radio 1.

Unless theres a teaser at 6pm i don't believe it. seems very unlikely they'd drop without a teaser

I don’t know what time tomorrow but Friday at 08:00.

 

I have also been told carti is not booked (as of yet). There is another (arguably bigger) US rapper playing in a sub slot.

None correct.

I’ve only been told another bit of information and that is that one of the MSW subs (not the aforementioned rapper) is very, very, very disappointing. Not been told who just that they’re.

Courteeners would be good by R&L’s standard. It’ll be someone who we’ve either never heard of or someone we do know that’s getting a right bump up

Can guarantee there will be an uninspiring Indie band booking to fill in a high slot that they couldn't get anyone more currently relevant to fill. Courteeners, Blossoms, The Vaccines, The Wombats, The Kooks, Two Door Cinema Club, Bastille, take your pick.

Some of those would be ace tbf, TDCC were excellent last year I thought. Charli xcx, Polo G, Wolf Alice / Bastille, Glass Animals, D Block Europe was a poor mix this year.

Going by the size of MSE subs we've had the past couple of years it wouldn't surprise me to see someone like Tom Grennan getting bumped up. MSW headliners are the traditional sub sized acts nowadays.

Reading and Leeds have clearly cornered the market since V got cancelled. It's no co incidence that the line-up has been getting more pop acts since 2018. He was also booked for 2020, on the Rage day no less.

Grennan played 2021 and has only gotten bigger since then once again and was good this is just yet another example of the members of Efests being disconnected with the demographic of the festival in the year of 2022
