What’s the reason for the Georgia optimism? Are they only counting mail in ballots currently?

Yes and it’s now only a few thousand between them. Biden is going up and Trump has frozen.

I went to spend that election night (2008) with my brother and his housemates at uni. Colouring in the map, taking appropriately coloured shots as states were called, and celebrating wildly when Obama won. I woke the next day with a real feeling of optimism about the world.

Needless to say, every election experience since has been a major disappointment.

All credit to the people counting the votes, but Jesus Christ what a mess this system is. Some areas haven’t budged in ages, a day in some cases. It’s the 21st century and this is the best the biggest democratic nation can do?! beggars belief really.

yeah...China would have this all counted, done and dusted in a few hours. ...except they don't count votes of course.
