The great monsoon of 2018.  The vietnam of our times...I remember being down front when bluetones were on and stage gear was flying all over.

I think I went round the D-Day museum 5 times. 😂

I was there.  Even worse for Gomez early doors. They played on the stage, under a gazebo.  Madness it went ahead

Ah Gomez…. The moment we found out our waterproof gear wasn’t so waterproof after all! Gomez were great though

They really were. Cheered up all the 500 or so that braved the early weather. Ended (in the sun) with Keith’s last UK festival gig with the Prodigy. RIP Keith.

So our plan is set (would have liked Fontaines but going with the wife and kids so the Spice Girl won!).  Any other recommendations barring the obvious big acts.

Think ours will look similar. Decent weekend for me. Manics might be picked over the streets on the night depending on mood

Yeah really good.  Handy to have loads of time in the mornings too for the kids stuff

    • Aldous Harding absolutely brilliant in Dublin last night. Quirky as ever but sounded magnificent. Played everything off the new album I think, it all sounded fantastic. Band, including H Hawkline, were understated but excellent. Another one to look forward to.
    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
