I'm the same. I think Glass Onion tried to be a bit too clever. Janelle Monae was great in it, though!

I think I preferred Glass Onion, I liked that it had a bit more humour to it, although perhaps the first one had some appeal as it was all so new and different.  Both had great casts and I enjoyed them a lot.

Working my way through for all mankind, so good

I am now halfway in season 2. I read season 2 was better than 1 but so far not convinced. Maybe it's because I am not that much into the Gordo/Tracy thing.

First episode of Happy Valley, excellent as expected! Sgt Cawood for the win!

This annoying "work" thing means I have less time for TV but hope to pick up season 2 of the Capture or Slow horses soon.

Yes, there were some fun bits in there. Some cool (but short) cameos.

I've been enjoying the recent "whodunnit" releases. Not seen a terrible one yet. I was loving "See How They Run" but thought it lost it's way in the final act. That was a shame, Saoirse Ronan was fabulous in it.

I think I worked out Glass Onion much quicker. I do love a good proper murder mystery though. It’s why I enjoyed The Traitors so much as well.

Yes, I enjoyed that, have enjoyed some other detective recommendations from this thread too.

Ooh, new Happy Valley! Basically trauma porn, but brilliantly acted. Think I’ll wait until they’re all out and binge them.

Meanwhile I’m on to Slow Horses season 2. I really enjoy how Lamb replies to dialogue a lesser show would serve up as is, by cutting it off at the knees.

Apple are on a bit of a roll over here. Black Bird was excellent, Severance one of the best of 2022, For All Mankind was outstanding, and now Slow Horses.

I feel exactly the same. Loved the period setting and the two detectives and their dynamic, but the outcome of the whodunnit seemed so contrived. But worst of all, they never really explained how they solved the case. They just turned up, accused the culprit and he confessed. The best whodunnit's show how the detectives come to their conclusion, usually through some clever insight or deduction. A wasted opportunity.

Finished Bad Sisters and I enjoyed that way more than I thought I would. Great cast, great soundtrack, a great mix of comedy, slapstick, farce and drama. Would recommend to anyone who hasn’t seen it. If you have seen it through Gogglebox don’t let that put you off as there isn’t any real spoilers although it felt like there would be.

Yes, working through the US version at the moment.

and a new series of Death in Paradise starts next week though worryingly I think they might have meddled with the theme tune with a new version.

Pleased to report that the theme tune hasn’t changed so that Xmas version was only for the special. So I can still do a sofa dance to it.

They don't have an easy way of finding their whodunnit stuff do they?

I know there were lists like these, with codes, but that tends to be "crime thriller" for example

I'd like to see the search functions on all streaming platforms be a little more intuitive. They're all a bit clunky.

I’m sure I heard someone mention there was a Glastonbury documentary or re-run on at 9pm tonight…or did I make that up? Can’t find anything listed anywhere, so I’m edging towards the later

Rod Stewart special had a tune from his pyramid performance

Absolutely shocking snub to Better Call Saul at the Golden Globes today. It didn’t win a thing but deserved to win everything!

Think the second half of the season is eligible for next years awards but it will’ve been so long by then that it might not stand a chance. Stuff often wins on its last season though so fingers crossed it gets something, although it’s outrageous that it’s been ignored thus far.

I’m not sure about that. The eligibility period for the Globes is literally the calendar year, 1st Jan until 31st Dec. - the entire season was shown within that time. The Globes just snubbed the show (aside from the many nominations) from beginning to end. It will be eligible for next year’s Emmys though.
