Haven't been on since Friday but the drop in the rate per 100k in NI continues to fall thankfully.

Down to 353.2/100k now which is the lowest since Dec 29th.

This is however similar to our peak level in the October spike, so still need it to come down a long way from here.

Down to 323.7/100k now but another 24 deaths sadly. Still going to be a while before the deaths come down.

200/100k now in Scotland.

Sturgeon has just announced the extension of current rules for another 3 weeks at least, from 1st February. Schools and nurseries still closed.

Anyone else still seeing infections rise ? we have had a few individual daily drops but the figures are still trending upwards ? dont know what will be done about this .... if anything ?

Were cases near you relatively row (compared to the national average) and are rising but still well below this figure?

The areas that were very high are seeing rather steady declines as you would now expect, but still above the national average in many areas - so guess upward/downward trends need to be taken with that in consideration.

How much of that is just the fact that our lockdown is way stricter than most other European countries? Pretty much the entire country hasn’t been allowed to socialise indoors from 23/3/2020-4/7/2020 and then again 5/11/2020-present and large parts of the country were in local lockdown in between.

Looking at the restrictions in other countries, they usually DO make allowances for small group indoor socialising. Being able to see your best mate/partner/parents/sibling etc is REALLY important and I think the removal of that in the UK is driving a lot of mental health issues.

The latter is very important IMO. Locking people away from their loved ones is making it harder for people than it needs to be, which will be a drag on their ability to comply. It’s very cold where again, other Countries do it smarter.

We are now sat around 400 per 100,000 having risen from around 350 a few weeks back ....  we are still below the national average but surely a national lockdown should be having some impact by now ?

At least I'd say - hospitalisations still seem to be rising over here despite cases falling for over two weeks now.

I hate to say it but yeah it might be more than that. It takes a while to filter back through. Maybe some are re-admittances to hospital?

So out of touch. The music industry at least is so one sided between us and Europe that they are pretty much exclusively fucking over UK artists, who generally play big venues and headline festivals in Europe compared to European artists who do not do the same here.

Yep, it’s madness.
I think we need the UK mega bands and artists (Muse, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Adele, Ed Sheeran etc) to really get behind a movement to have this reviewed as a matter of urgency.

Yeah they need to do so urgently, as they all started somewhere even if they are pretty much the only ones it won't affect all that much as they can just hire people to sort it all out and put prices up by 10euros or so.

unless part of it is the government not wanting Europe to get the benefit of our touring artists, with the (again out of touch) idea they might just tour here more or even "why would they want to go there when they can tour here" type mentality. Probably a mix of all of that stupid thinking
