I duhnno about anyone else, but this part of the pandemic, has been the worst part for me.

- From yesterday finding out that millions of jobs will be lost and that there's no support for the millions who have already been excluded. I'll probably have to get a new job, when the cinema job is something that was bearable to work at. Not great pay but something harder to find, actually enjoying day to day work. But other retail jobs/ entry level jobs ive worked have made me want to jump off a bridge and they try and screw you over at every turn. Don't think I've had a job where they don't try and skim your wage from under you. - This is the british world of work i have to go back, one that treats its workers like props to save money.
- Government discourse has gotten to a point, why you can't even see a shred of decency in any of their actions. every single main tory minister who do press conferences or parliament gives absolutely no shit about us or england, most have fingers in pies that profit on the economic dismay of our country.
- The virus is seemingly getting as bad as it was before or maybe worse by winters end. yes we know alot more and are closer to a virus, but it's so sad that we are almost back at square one , because the tories ruined compliance with terrible measures and confusing slogans and breaking the rules and rule of law themselves. Add to that i have been so strict about the measures, only meeting a friend or too socially distanced outside. But yet because of the gov and other people getting half priced meals and sending kids back to school, now i suffer even longer.
I enjoyed the time lockdown gave me to write , exercise, catch up on culture but no it seems we are going into winter with a lockdown, probs a shitty paid retail job where i cant afford anything but rent, so no money, no chance to see friends.

Why can't the government just do more to support it's people, why do we have to stand for this. When we know so many people who vote them, don't have a clue what their really voting for. - How can anyone defend their actions at this point, when it's so transparent what they are doing

It would not look good for the Government that 3 days after their announcement on more restrictions that they would then have to go further. It probably needs to happen.

Looks like it’s virtual socialising for me again. Time to give the virtual meet thread a bump.

I did notice that my local asda removed about a third of it’s checkouts and spread the rest out. They’ve also put the queue barriers back up outside the store. @crazyfool1 is that likely to be a national thing or just localised for high risk areas?

Have it on good authority that London is close to household mixing restrictions and the mood music is that the government will implement it nationwide rather than singling out London.

Not seen it at my store as yet ... but we are low risk ... my first day back today with the new facemask rules and I have to say I was impressed ... a couple of piss takers amongst the colleagues that I know have no excemptions but hopefully they will be challenged in next few days ... and we now have new covid marshals handing out coverings to any without  that meant very few Instore without coverings today ... I’ll see if I can dig out the policy on queuing when I’m in tomorow

If most major cities are getting it then it makes sense to make it national otherwise everyone will be escaping to the more rural parts this weekend.

Probably announce it all to start on the 1st.

Maybe but I don’t think they’ll announce anything till next week.

They they also have the issue of the renewal of the Coronavirus Act and the possible rebellion on their back benches too.

Hmm, local lockdowns implemented when needed in the north & midlands but if London needs locking down it takes the whole country with it?
