So since 2009 its always been the first Thursday and Sunday in October, meaning this year it'll probably be the second week as that's when im planning my weekend break.

Cue one stressed and tense weekend break.

Squid tonight, then later in the year Manchester Psych fest, Alex Cameron, Black Midi, Little Simz, Girl Band, Fontaines DC and Kate Tempest.

Normally knock out 20+ gigs between September and December so looking forward to some more announcements. Got my eye on a few as well, really fancy going down to London for Ty's Melted set and Black Lips and Wand are dependent on if they sell out before I gets money.

Did you see Squid at Glastonbury? You're in for a treat if not, one of the highlights of the weekend for me!

I did! I was gutted them and Black Midi were billed so early as there was no chance I was gonna make them and accidentally wound up at them playing one after the other in the Crows Nest. Hoping to remember a little more this time round, although I remember Houseplants going off.

I'm still dead from Glasto so hoping they'll provide such energy again. Looking forward to going to a gig in the YES basement as well, I don't like the pink room as much as I'd like to.

Post glasto blues has killed me this year. Yeah i wasn't that keen on the pink room when i went, havent done a gig in the basement though.

If i wasn't going Stevie Wonder tomorrow id be all over this. Haven't been this excited over a new band in a long time! Enjoy!

I’ve not been to the basement yet, I’ve a couple of gigs in the pink room lined up, Jonathan Wilson and Gia Margaret

I like what they're trying to do with it, and the venue as a whole, it can just struggle with crowds a little at points. Now Wave are such good bookers though I end up there quite a lot ahah.

Fly to Portugal on Weds for eight days for Nos Alive (Chems, Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Hot Chip, etc) then some beach time. Think this may be the main reason I've largely swerved the post-fest blues.

Want to pop into central London for gay pride tomorrow evening, but reckon it might be rammed (no pun intended).

Good number going to BlueDot I see, I’ll  be there for Kraftwerk.

Besides that, several small gigs such as Lee Scratch Perry, Bill Callahan, Duncan Chisholm, Ferocious Dog, and the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets!

Worked the Yoko Ono Bells For Peace event yesterday. also doing Idris Elba’s Tree, and please anyone in Manchester come see me in the Chorus of Others, flash mob choir, MIF Festival Square, Monday 15th 16:30, on stage before The Orielles and Working Man’s Club.

Noisily next Thursday.

Unpacking and repacking at the same time takes the edge off of things!

Anyone else here going?

It's a beautiful little festival.

Yep, it falls on the same day as Cardiff half marathon. Cue one stressful morning being more stressful.

Newport Folk Festival for me, end of this month...much smaller festival, but similar to Glastonbury in that it has a history, always sells out before lineup is announced, is not a commercial festival. I'm ticketed for day one only at moment, but I always into day 2. Day one/Friday has a cracking lineup though, including 2 familiar names from the Friday of our Glastonbury this year, and anytime you get someone from the Grateful Dead you should consider yourself lucky...

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
