For those in the know: is it cheaper to stock up on packs of cigs beforehand or to just bring one and buy more when on site?

Definitely bring them with you. I gave up a few years ago but they were always expensive on site.

Depends what you’re used to. I’m in London and find it cheaper to buy them there.

I've always find prices are comparable to buying in a major city. Not noticeably dear.

They only stock a few brands on site IIRC. It was always difficult to get hold of a pack of Marlboro Lights for example.

You might get more choice in Co-op as they stated they will be selling tobacco/cigarettes.

Yep I always struggle to find Bob lights on site too always end up smoking benson & hedges or camels and lose my voice... Blaming the cigarettes?

I haven't bought ciggies there for a couple of years, but last time I did (2016, I think) I remember buying some rolling tobacco and being surprised that it was about a quid cheaper.  Dunno about fags though.  I doubt there'll be much in it though.

Hard to predict prices.  There were a couple of years recently where fags and baccie were cheaper onsite than at home, most years you were paying a premium onsite.

Always round about the same price. Big thing is they run out of the major brands quick. As someone as else mentioned might be better with co-op being there this year.

I used to stop off at the Shepton Tesco to buy baccy before but when I ran out and bought more at the festival it worked out cheaper.

I bought my first cigarettes in nearly a year yesterday that hopefully , and probably, won't even be opened.

But 4am Shangri-La or Block 9 me may have different ideas...

B&H has always been cheaper to buy on site than a supermarket

Fags and baccy tend to be cheaper at festivals than the outside world.

Must be something to do with advertising or promotional stuff.

We must have been attending festivals on different planets, not sure about glasto but not uncommon to be £20 a pack at a lot of festivals

I did see Michael and Emily coming through customs at Stanstead recently with dozens and dozens of cartons of Lamberts under their arms. They were swearing blind it was for personal use...

I definitely remember them being about £18 at Leeds a few years ago and have paid £15 many a time at various ones. I did buy some at glasto 2017 at a stall just outside the common area but wasn’t in any state to remember the price, usually stock up before these days coz of being shafted price wise previously. Anyway, smoking is bad kids don’t do it

I quit a few years back and haven't bought a pack for years, now that shops aren't allowed to display them or their prices I actually have no idea what the going rate for 20 Marlboro Lights is anymore.
