  1. Yes, you're a real feminist icon Neil. There is no real point in engaging with you as it's clear you're not interested in thinking about why people read your comments the way that they did. Obviously you'd prefer to feign ignorance when people point out it's near identical to the "reasonable" talking points and jokes made by people trying to roll back trans rights at a time when they are very much under attack. Best of luck with your forum/site I'm sure it will continue to flourish under your tremendous leadership.
  2. You randomly bought up trans people, out of absolutely nowhere. Then proceeded to take a jab at Kae Tempest and randomly bring up the fact that transwomen could potentially commit rape. Again, all out of nowhere. You keep saying that people have misunderstood or are choosing to read in to things that aren't there, perhaps you should consider your own communication if nobody can understand what on earth your trying to say.
  3. To be fair, I've yet to see any of their admins bring up a load of transphobic dog whistles completely unprompted. Swings and roundabouts I guess.
  4. Was rammed but the atmosphere outside was fantastic. Probably the most fun crowd of the weekend. I don't think an act like S Club would work in that slot, Sugababes managed to fill the slot with wall to wall hits, a lot of which I had forgotten was even them. S Club have maybe 4 that would get everyone going but that's about it.
  5. Beyonce had that bizarre Tricky cameo and had a video of festival goers play behind her during Halo.
  6. Love Is The Drug would probably come closest but I think for a lot of people it's a "oh, this was them?" rather than a massive singalong moment. Probably Jealous Guy might be the one with widest appeal to be fair, even if it's not only from their version.
  7. I like Roxy Music but I'm thoroughly whelmed by the idea of them doing the legends slot. I tend to think it needs acts with at least one song you could throw on at a wedding disco and everyone would know it.
  8. Agreed on the issues with toilets and rubbish, from what I hear there were big issues with the toilet contractors but equally that's on the festival for going with who they did. Rubbish wise I get why people resorted to dropping/leaving it by full bins as I spent half an hour trying to find a bin with space for some cans on Sunday and eventually had to give up. I did find the shower provision to be great, we were camped just by the live in vehicle field and queued for fifteen minutes Saturday lunchtime for a very clean and pleasant shower. I enjoyed the rest of the festival more than most people on social media seem to have, went into it assuming I'd know none of the lineup and enjoyed a lot of what I discovered. I also loved lots of the little bits to find and pop up performances but was expecting far more of it based on what I had heard. Crowd was generally fantastic also although it seems this may not have been universal, may have been because of the areas I spent most time in. Overall a lovely weekend and I'll definitely give it at least one more go, hopefully they'll take the feedback from this year seriously and fix things by next year.
  9. Yeah, she posted a list of her summer gigs and it listed secret garden party. Only saw it briefly but I believe it was the 21st so Thursday. Since tweeted about taking it down due to announcing something she shouldn't have.
  10. Self Esteem self confirmed earlier then swiftly deleted.
  11. She isn't a novelty act, she releases generally good hyperpop nowadays. Not most people's thing but she's been nominated for decent indie music awards.
  12. To be honest I think the guard who said two hours wasn't taking into the account the fact the queue was mostly massive as nobody was inside yet.
  13. MCR against Taylor would be a horrific outcome for me, whatever I chose I'd feel distraught at what I was missing. One that haven't been mentioned that I'd love to see: - Robyn - Carly Rae Jepson - Patti Labelle - Gaslight Anthem - Avril Lavigne - Placebo - Rebecca Black
  14. Other than queues for the bars and toilets I found the SE corner to be the most manageable it's been yet in terms of getting around. And even the bar queues were usually fine if you walked to the next one. Only irritating thing was getting to NYC Downlow a full half an hour before it opened on Saturday only to be told the queue was already 2 hours long. Thankfully half an hour in I complimented one of the performers walking past and she pulled our group from the queue and bought us straight inside. Fantastic night.
  15. From a technical POV probably not hard to do. Practicality wise probably a nightmare, you'd presumably need to have some sort of scanner and code on both wristband/ticket which are then linked when scanned. Then hope none of the infrastructure goes down/stop working on the outer reaches of the site. If this adds say a minute per punter on entry that's 3000+ hours added to the time to get people in and 3000+ extra staffing hours at the entry points to pay for. You'd then presumably need people patrolling the site with scanners, likely with security accompanying if they're expected to stop drunk/high people and inform them that their registration is banned for next year. Plus presumably a lot of people to work on admin associated with that when people start emailing about how they only dropped something by accident and there were no bins nearby. Yeah, litters bad but it's also a significantly lesser problem than it was even a decade ago. It would be weird to put in place such a massive system for something that seems to be getting better all the time. Besides, why would the festival reduce its ticket buying base like this? It's no guarantee that it will continue to sell out and be financially viable, particularly if they start banning people on such a scale.
  16. Oh My God It's The Church Self Esteem (both times. JP was a fantastic set from a superstar in ascendance, Greenpeace was an absolute party with a better crowd) Pet Shop Boys
  17. Has there been any info about Self Esteems secret set?
  18. Gate A queue has been moved right up the gate but the gate itself still isn't open.
  19. Does anyone know if D or A is shorter at the moment? Obviously I know nobody can be in both but I've had a few drinks and hoping someone can collate information for me.
  20. I've never been asked for ID on the gates and my photo, whilst me, looks not much like me at all. Likewise don't think I've ever been asked at the bars, they operate challenge 21 so as long as you're not super young looking you should be grand.
  21. Can anyone remember if the prices for rolling tobacco are horrifically inflated or just quite inflated? It's payday Friday and I'd rather keep the money for food/drinks on Wednesday and Thursday rather than buying beforehand.
  22. Dependant on where you're coming from I'd look at somewhere around the back of the station, maybe by the anchor pub. Or even down by Hurst Street which will be a ten minute walk. The whole city is very walkable tbh, fifteen minutes from the bullring also. Might be worth getting there a little earlier as roads may be busier due to the train strike.
  23. Digbeth coach station is open as normal, the coaches leave from the back of the station rather than onto the high street so generally it's not too bad. Dependant on what route they take they might get caught in traffic getting out of the immediate area but generally it's not as bad as it looks. Depending where you're coming from you're best getting dropped off five minutes away and walking the last bit.
