Game of Thrones

To be honest I've lost interest in it a little, I'll watch it to the end because I want to see what happens (Bronn as king of everything is the correct outcome) but I feel it's lost its way a little over the last couple of series. I prefer the politicking, scheming and squabbling of the early series to endless shots of ice zombies.

Exactly my feelings towards it. I’m sure that Cersei will add some needed conspiring/scheming but overall humans vs. zombies isn’t really that interesting, and the moment the writers had to veer away from the books the cracks began to show.

Still though, with only 6 episodes left it’s just gotta go full throttle throughout... right?!

  • 2 weeks later...

Welp there goes my notion that they couldn’t spend the usual first episode of everybody arriving in the places they need to be and fucking about what with there only being 6 episodes this season.

The NEXT episode it’s gonna well and truly kick off then, right!?

Yeah that was just 51 minutes of “Previously on Game on Thrones...”

Last night was a great episode, even though nothing was actually happening it felt incredibly tense.

You could say the same about the first one too, and I've really enjoyed both. And it's all building up to next week and the "biggest battle ever" which will look amazing, but 15 minutes in with no idea what's going on and lots of noise and blood and gore and I'm probably going to be bored of it

Enjoyed this weeks a lot more than last despite still not an awful lot happening, but I do worry how they’re gonna wrap everything up in a satisfying way with only 4 episodes left. I thought they’d be six fast paced packed episodes, but they still seem content to meander quite a bit. Lots of loose ends and characters I can see not really being tied up.

    • Have you tried Anna von Hausswolff yet? Great singer, and she's from Gothenburg so guess she'll be extra excited to show her skills, especially after she unfortunately had to cancel her early summer dates.    Different style, but Oklou for me was the highlight of Primavera (apart from Geese), really enjoyable relaxed music.
    • A few bigger acts that did other similar festivals this year but not Truck, wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of these (if they're touring):   Reytons The Streets Blossoms Sophie-Ellis Bextor Rick Astley Scissor Sisters Dizzee Rascal   Truck on the undercard seems to rotate a lot of it every 2/3 years, expect to see some of these (if they're touring): Yard Act Sports Team Sea Girls Pale Waves Fat Dog Peace Swim Deep Courting   Hope Westside Cowboy and Radio Free Alice are booked again and get some bigger slots next year
    • I read a reliable source saying there's not enough time to stress test and have worked through any major financial decisions between now and then.   So guarantees this budget will just be tinkering at the edges only.
    • Thanks @sisco. Looking forward to it!
