Don't misunderstand me, I'm not precious about such things, notwithstanding the fact that I am not a great supporter of the concept of downvoting in general. For me, if you like something, let people know. If you don't, maybe respond as to why. But that's just me.

I'm interested as to why you would take offence to my observing that a great band's great performance was slightly marred by their not having tuned to a (relatively) untunable instrument. I don't know if you ever watch 'classical' music, but if there's a piano there, everyone in the orchestra tunes to it. If not, then they'll tune to the leader (principal first violin, conventionally).

Saw Fleet Foxes at Latitude in 2017, who's latest record is piano heavy. Clearly the band were regularly tuning to the piano to ensure they were on point.

Anyway, do let me know what irked you so.

Not the biggest sub but after Tame Impala did it in 2016 you can hardly argue that they’re too small for it or anything. Got the tunes, new album has done well chart-wise and an ideal sub for The Cure imo.

VW are one of my favourite bands but I really don’t see a comparison. Tame were on the rise in 2016 whereas I feel VW are not as big as when they last played.

I’m not complaining about the booking I’m just surprised that they resorted to placing them as a sub. I’m surprised with foals supposedly on the lineup VW got it instead.

Time for me to reveal my little claim to fame/ promise I made

I messaged Ezra on Instagram in March and he confirmed they were subbing The Cure but he really politely asked that I keep it to myself, it's been fun reading everyone place Vampire Weekend as other headliner or third down but I really didn't wanna go round telling people because he said not to, plus I was worried I'd jinx it and it would turn out they got moved

It’s the perfect ending to the festival for me, Vampire Weekend into The Cure.... Couldn’t have worked out better
