At the Drive in tickets back on 2-for-1 (Ticketmaster) for the upcoming tour. Just noticed the Manchester gig has been downgraded to Academy 1 as well.

Tempted at that price, but not a massive fan of Academy 1. Apollo is way better.

Anyone who saw them support Royal Blood will understand why they were downgraded & at 2 for 1 tickets...

Bloody hell they were bad.

Can confirm, they were the worst band I've ever seen live.

Christ they must be doing shite. Don’t think even standing had sold out for the Apollo show so not surprised by the downgrade at all. Was hoping the bad live reports were because they weren’t playing to their own audiences but starting to think they might’ve just totally lost it live.

At least Death From Above should be good...

They got outstanding reviews for their last headline show in the UK. And the arbiters that evening weren’t people who’d just paid £30+ to see Royal Blood. :P

When they played the Roundhouse in 2016 they were fantastic.

Brixton & Reading in 2012 was poor. Supporting Royal Blood was poor.

Cool, sounds promising. Maybe not so much for the DFA1979 fans.

Smashing Pumpkins have announced a load of US dates, hopefully UK ones follow soon.

:lol::lol::lol:

No matter how much of a barmpot* WPC becomes I will always have time for The Smashing Pumpkins live, but original lineup (sans D'Arcy) makes it a full on must see.

*Unless he goes the Steve Morrissey route, in which case he can fuck off and die.

Was planning on doing this beforehand but with the announcement of it being only pre-split material this is a must for me. Smashing Pumpkins without having to worry about what shit new stuff Billy will decide to throw in? Sign me up!

Why are they doing this when I'm shit poor? Hopefully if they are doing whichever Manchester football ground there'll be some touts flogging off cheap after supports are done.

    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
    • A lot of people have said this online but does the Marvel world need new cities to play with? New York seems to be a target of all the villains to the point where you wonder why anyone in that world still lives there. Much as you can accuse me of overthinking it I guess haha.    I do agree that The Void is a compellingly different villain in many respects given the superpower is trapping people in their most traumatic memories. Shame in some respects the film came out in the post-Endgame funk Marvel seems stuck in and a lot of people missed out on it.    Speaking of, I rewatched Infinity War the other day. First time I think I've seen it since seeing it in the cinema on its opening day. Holds up pretty well imo - I have issues sometimes with ensemble casts and jumping between 4/5 storylines but it felt this one got the balance right and also properly explored Thanos. So it was good.
    • I didn't think I'd ever watched a Coben adaptation or read one of the original books, though turns out I did - I watched one called The Stranger back in 2020. Clearly didn't stick long in my memory as until researching it, I didn't know that was one of his. Queens Gambit or Black Mirror, it was not.    But clearly it's popular tripe in some respect if Netflix is going yes to everything he has to offer and are apparently about to start trying his most popular individual character, as seen below:   https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/jul/30/how-harlan-coben-became-the-king-of-potboiler-tv   Plus hey. Sometimes people get a kick from watching something and deriding it as crap. Don't let this internet rando stop you haha
