I'm all for it. I don't mind waiting a little longer to get in if it means they prevent people bringing nasties in

It is what it is, best thing we can do is accept it, be helpful and respectful to the guys doing it and hopefully they won't take to long with you.

Im guessing it will add extra time on for those getting there early on the Wednesday, no real issues though, guess it's what they need to do in order to feel like they've taken all necessary precautions.

This. I've seen one or two people be really shitty to the volunteers before just because it adds a few extra minutes getting into the site.

Absolutely fair. We whack our tents in a trolley so will need to rethink that.  Maybe have the trolley and add it on after we are through the checkpoint  

People really can't get mad with them for being responsible.

no but they are searching persons !! out of 12 of us 1 of us got lightly searched last year I'm not up for an airport style examination

Stuff them down your pants or hide them somewhere small and you'll be fine. They're looking for Guns/knives/bombs which would be relatively hard to hide in your pants etc.

I'm completely fine with this. I really don't mind having to wait a bit longer to get in so we're all kept safe.

I do have one question: it says 'please do not wrap your bags / kit in the thick plastic wrap you sometimes see at airports. Your bags will need to be accessible for searches.' I'm guessing that includes fixing stuff to trolleys with pallet wrap? I usually attach things to my trolley this way but if we're unable to this year I'll just load up on bungee straps.
