There's a report of a raid/explosions in Fallowfield. Any truth in these reports?

Yeah, close to where they have arrested the 23 yr old. They used a controlled explosion to gain access to the property

Haven't heard anything. I'm opposite the big Sainsbury's so not really in 'true' Fallowfield. I'll see if I can find anything out though

i believe the arrest is nearer to princess parkway than the student end where you are, shocking as i cycle down there every day, can't believe this is happening so close to home

Just read the Evening News. They have announced a couple of the peoole who have died. One of them is an eight year old child. What kind of sick fuck even thinks of doing sonething like this?

Fuck it, I am off to buy records from the vinyl exchange. Bastards are not stopping me going a out my life.

As the father of 2 daughters who I have had to drop off and pick up from concerts Inc the Manchester arena this tragedy has hit hard . I cannot comprehende the callousness of such a cowardly act . I cannot even begin to imagine the pain of the families involved . I don't have any words to comfort them but as with everyone here I am thinking of you all .

Have you seen this?

Seems to be about 5 minutes after police were called.  'Hopefully' he's concussed and will turn up soon.  Of course clocks aren't necessarily that accurate.  Here's hoping.

Yeah I saw that, hopefully the time is correct

Also might be worth another drive of sharing any information about his tattoo, clothes etc. Any hospital staff that were on shift last night may be waking up or might spot something if they are back on tonight.

My friend is a nurse at one of the hospitals and was in shock when she messaged our group today. It seems it was quite an overwhelming night and they may have been too focused on the patient's medical needs to take note of identify at the time but might spark a memory today.

Good luck x

This has deeply saddened and disgusted me in equal measure. I travel to Manchester everyday so it is a concern but what else are we supposed to do? Not live?

Exactly. It took me nearly 4 hours to get to work. Walking towards the past the arndale and shudehill was a very surreal experience. Almost silent. You could hear nothing other than the constant trudging of feet.

I have things to do though... I say "bollocks" if people think some bastard with a bomb is gunna stop me.

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
