chatty
So it changed from Brian Wilson to the Beach Boys. I see both are touring around the same time. So Im gonna take it its more likely a Wilsonless Beach Boys but they did do a tour together not long back. Wonder if theres any chance of a last time semi-reunion? Probably not. Anyway, anyone seen both, who do you prefer. Ive heard both are great live tbf.
majormajormajor
Isn't the 'Beach Boys' touring machine just that c**t Mike Love and some backing band?
henry bear
I've seen both and far preferred Brian Wilson - his band are fantastic and full of enthusiasm, they look like they're having a ball. The Beach Boys less so. Also, to me it doesn't seem right to have a Beach Boys without a Wilson. That said, I'm sure I'd enjoy them doing their thing at Glastonbury - they've obviously got wall to wall classics that the crowd would love. A few days ago it seemed unlikely they'd be able to play as their itinerary showed them as playing in Spain on the Thursday and Saturday and France on Sunday. So they could only have played the Friday at Glasto, and that would have involved hauling them and all their gear from Spain, and then doing it all in reverse, which is very unlikely. I see though that, according to their website, they're no longer showing as playing in France on the Sunday, leaving the door open for a Sunday slot. If so, I wonder if that's the legends slot. Maybe Miss Ross isn't doing it after all..
CaledonianGonzo
Would be a rum do having a legend slot headed up by a bloke who's actively disliked - by the people who even know who he is.
the wonderwhy
Pretty sure I read on here the French date was listed somewhere other than their website?

What he said was if it was Wilsons backing band that was touring under the name then they were great. Think I confused myself with that one. I googled it yesterday after dental mentioned it in the prediction thread and found it on a French ticket website. Would make much more sense for it to have been cancelled though compared to playing two night in Spain, over to Glastonbury then back to Spain. Amy Lawn
What would the odds be of Mike doing the Pyramid and Brian doing Accoustic on a different day? Slim? It just seems a bit of an arse that Brian is seemingly playing everywhere this year but we get "The Beach Boys". If Brian wasn't touring, then I'd be pretty pleased with Mike & co., because a field full of people singing along to God Only Knows is never not going to be amazing, but when you know there's a better proposition out there I want it. I was told the beach boys. It's supposedly well-sourced, tho I can't vouch for that as the guy has no meaningful history with telling me stuff. I do think he's straight up tho. My first thought was that it would be Brian and not the BBs, as Brian is doing his (supposedly) last UK tour, and the info had got changed for some reason in the retelling(s). Which is why Brian got put on the line-up page. I then got some info from a proven source, who told me he knew Brian wasn't doing Glasto. So I decided it must be the BBs, so changed what was listed. On Friday night at the Foos show, a guy I know told me he thought Brian was doing the extravaganza and not the main fest. However, there's a Brian announcement for tomorrow which claims itself as his last UK show, and it's for a date before the extravaganza, so the extravaganza looks unlikely. So ... it looks like its either the BBs at the main fest, or the info is wrong. However, even if the info is wrong it might be that the guy who told me really did hear it from the direction he says - and it should always be believed when heard like that, even tho there's occasional history of wrong names via that route (if that makes sense? I can't give too much away). All this stuff makes my head spin.
