Noooo Elbow's music is definitely not melancholy... especially their last few albums.....

melancholy
ˈmɛlənkəli/
noun
  1. 1.
a feeling of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause.
"an air of melancholy surrounded him"
synonyms: desolation, sadness, pensiveness, woe, sorrow, melancholia; More

Elbow's music defintely not this... if you listen to their lyrics their songs of mostly very uplifting awe inspiring. Im biased though as they are one of, if not actually, my favourite band haha!

You are right, I only ever get a feeling of uncontrollable anger and disappointment when I listen to them.

Back on topic for a mo, is there any chance we might get anything this week? A nice stage split poster would be a welcome treat for Easter weekend! :)

I'm hoping there's one before the resale - that'd make sense if they want to generate sales and fit with pattern of: announce payment dates > first poster > payment period > announce resale > second poster > resale.  Sounds sensible to me...

No announcements until the 24th!

And then an announcement every day.

C'mon, they aren't going to struggle to sell out the resale.

Why announce after the resale though - doesn't make much sense from a sales perspective...  I know they have contractual stuff to comply with, but if everything's set to go then they should be able to release something before thurs next week?

See above edit. There is absolutely no danger of the resale not selling.

Pattern? PATTERN? Well, that's scuppered it for sure, then!

Absolutely - but same reasoning for them giving an initial lineup before balance payments.  They'd easily lose those not wanting to pay without a lineup and still sell the resale.

My pref would be no lineup til we're all locked in (not to turn this into the confirmations thread though!)

King Gizzard updated as TBC. I iz happy about thizzard.

(Hope you all like my piss poor attempts at being clever).

These are one of the very very few bands/acts I would like to catch. Never heard of them, but quite like them after a little spotifying.

Alright we get it, you don't like anyone on the poster. Jeeez.

I am only joking, you can of course like or dislike anyone you want.

Biffy before Ed then.

And more secret sets at The Park. Thought we had seen the last of them. Great news.

The xx look to be almost certain for one of these secret sets after somebody having info that they'd be there (along with other acts now on the lineup). Fingers crossed the other(s) are decent (and hopefully not just more acts already on the bill, although could resolve some clashes if they are).

I said the Arctic Monkeys were "ok I guess" and they've stopped collecting my bins now

Hahaha it's funny because it's probably true...and I wish i wasn't out of up votes. Love a bit of Sheffield-based humour :)

All the chat of Courteeners and I'm blank, Ive got nothing apart from this

TBF I only know who they are because I was once (very inadvisably) seeing a guy from Manchester, and it appeared to be the only band he liked. He often confessed that he wasn't "that into music"...except the Courteeners. I've never heard any of my other friends talk about them before or since.

If only!! Would all be a lot less stressful if we got an hour on the resale rather than 15 minutes!

Moonlandingz?

Radiohead, Foos, Sheeran, Phoenix, the XX, Royal Blood, British Sea Power, Alt J, Haim, Father John Misty, Warpaint, Kaiser Chiefs, Rag and Bone Man - hardly a whole heap of niche acts. I could go on. There's plenty of guitars and drums and melancholic stuff there. British Sea Power are hardly pioneering music that specialises in new age techniques or prog rock using cats teeth and baboon recordings. There's A LOT there for the average music listener
