It is a ridiculous amount of money but I just don't think I can miss it. I'm not sure how sustainable these sorts of prices are in the long run though, every bubble has to burst.

Could be worse - some people have paid £130 to see Bros.

They were until now. They're not anymore because people paid 70ish to see Fleetwood Mac, U2, AC/DC, Beyonce, Madonna, Springsteen, Paul Simon, Sting, Eagles, Stones, Macca, Elton, Adele, etc on their tours.

60 ish was the standard on their tours before that. Itll cost 100+ next time around because all the current crop are selling out their gigs.

They really are. Considering theres a very good chance the sound will be shit seated in a stadium.

Coming the week before Glasto as well, think Mrs Chef may have to reevaluate her summer holiday plans. 

I'd rather not throw my Stone Roses ticket back in the pot but having seen them at The Etihad in June they would have to be the sacrifice.

Well instead of jacking the price up they could do more shows on each tour. Wishfull thinking I suppose

Or we could give out like the Romans did about Babs Streisand? No coincidence that the Italians usually pay a lot less for gigs and have done from then on.

I paid relative pittance for a U2 ticket in the Stadio Olimpico.

Trouble is with the gig in London there are those who will just see it as "a night out" at those prices, and "I went to gnr bragging rights."

I reckon they will do at least the Saturday and possibly the Sunday as well if there is demand. Its worded as their only UK show but I can see multiple nights, at least 2.

The price is shocking but this has to be done. My rationale is that the gates open at 3 - GnR won't be on before 8/8:30 so that leaves room for 2/3 support bands. If they are decent, makes the ticket seem less expensive.

For me that price is a day festival, I'd expect the undercard to reflect that.

Everyone always says this and then it never happens. Same for Radiohead, same for Coldplay. But the look of their tour schedule they've no interest in doing 2 nights in a row regardless of demand.

Edit: I'm not quite right there, they've done 2 nights in the same venues in mexico and brazil... I wonder were the second nights scheduled in advance or added due to demand?

The issue is that for £85-95 for standing you still aren't getting as close as you could, with the £155 at least you know there is a certain point you won't be further back than.

Thats the kicker for me yeah. Unless you're there very early and are prepared to stay put for 5-6 hours you'll be halfway down the pitch at best. Watching it on the screens. That golden circle looks big going by the diagram.

I can imagine there will be a LOT of interest in tickets in the UK. To be fair it will be hell for the first night on Friday. I am expecting at least a couple of good support bands to play, that makes things more manageable. Unfortunately we seem to live in a world where bands can charge what they like for tickets.

I've already decided not to tell my other half how much the tickets cost. If she knew I was planning to spend £90 on a gig ticket she would do her fucking nut.

Cheapest standing in Vegas was majorly more, cheapest decent seat was about £200-250.

This is it man! You will need to be there at doors open and WAY before to get close to the barrier for the nor all standing. I haven't seen the seat prices.

agreed, but thats a MASSIVE price increase for 40-50m forwards. I know someone who works as a steward there and if they do the gig I might bribe them to let me through although I am sure that there won't be any access from the pitch.

The GC takes up the first 3 blocks looking at the picture, seems fairly big but not AS big as the GC at the Hyde Park gigs used to be. I remember standing outside it for Mumfords when they supported Arcade Fire then moving forwards for AF. Seemed like a massive trek forwards!

I'd take Lenny but you can keep Wolfmother  saw them at Victorious Festival last year and they were quite dire. AND I used to like them back in the day.

It's not unexpected, but it is unacceptable. We as gig going music fans are being fleeced because modernisation in the way we listen to music has meant artists make less money from record sales.

I dunno. I recall reading that the prices are so sky-high that they haven't been selling out shows in the US and stuff, but breaking box office records in spite of that. With this sorta price structure maybe it isn't a given that it will fly out and they won't fancy risking not selling the rest of their expensive seats and pit tickets to commit to another night to shift more of the cheapest tickets. Saying that, people do seem to pay up in the UK - but I wouldn't count on a third night at least.
