Everyone will go even earlier this year to avoid those queues I reckon. Expect the 16 hour queue to begin at 10pm on the Tuesday in 2017...

They might as well just ban cars basically and put the money into a decent shuttle service from all the nearby towns and stations.

Off topic but what's it like trying to getting to the festival on the Wednesday morning??  I'm staying in Glastonbury Town and looking to get a taxi to either Worthy View or ZooLoos so won't be the busier gates hopefully..

Ahh I love Wednesday night, reacquainting myself with that Glastonbury atmosphere/feeling. I've never really planned it but ended up at the fireworks last time, right near the front in the stone circle with my mates and some randoms. Then bumped into some other friends and then got 'lost' in the SE corner. Bliss.

I really wanted one of those guys, saw one on a tent next to ours, don't know how I stopped myself claiming it, so jealous.

The peg tension on that green Gelert tent is an absolute disgrace. You wouldn't get that past me in our camp. I'd be grumbling and re-pegging to ensure an adequate erection.

"Finbar"....

Didn't get to do anything Wed this year due to mud/queues and having no tow-hook on the T2. Previous years I spend the afternoon bimbling aroud the site the head off for the fireworks & SE corner later.

I'm totally rubbish at putting up tents, I'm surprised it stays up at all.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'm going with some newbies next year and no doubt they'll want to go to watch the fireworks, so I think I will go solo and wander elsewhere. Like the idea of SE corner, barely touched it this year due to crowding, sounds like Wednesday is the night to see it if you want some space around you.

Might actually take you up on that, every time we went back to the tent I was sure we were going to find it had collapsed, was not a good feeling.

Clearly I'm just going to end up staggering in circles after the eFests meet and eventually pinballing my way into the night! Bring it

That's my plan, except I'm normally staggering in circles before I even get to the eFests meet...

Tend to always go up to King's M for the fireworks though - always an atmospheric moment to start the festi and often the best night for Stone Circle now these days.

it started at 4pm on the Tuesday this year. :P

Assuming that there's no loads of rain in the immediate run-up to the festival again, the traffic should hopefully go back to normal. I can't remember exactly when they first opened up the car parks on the Tuesday night but traffic hadn't been much of an issue since.

There was a problem with the timing of the opening of campervan and the subsequent comms that went out about it as well wasn't there, all driven by the realisation that the weather had saturated the parking areas and it was going to be a struggle?

The bar in the T&C field has become a haunt of ours for the Weds and Thurs evenings. It's nice atmosphere but not overrun, you can hang around outside the tent and catch up with old friends or head inside for a boogie.

Pints of grimbergen as well! I manage to work my route to pretty much any stage via the t+c bar so I can pick up a pint on the way, it's magnificent stuff (and a fiver for a pint of 6.5% beer)

Fuck I didn't know you could get that at GF. Got absolutely banjaxed on that at a wedding in France. Lethal.

I love the way it's at only one place, it would be messy if it was at every bar - inexperienced drinkers nutted at midday wouldn't be the best thing in the pyramid and other fields! This way you have to plan it and make a conscious decision to get over there. Or it's for those people who spend a good amount of time in the t+c field, and they tend to be pretty decent drinkers/not knobheads

Your taste in beer just gets better and better, sir!

Grimbergen is the dogs bollocks. Literally my favorite drink at Glastonbury. Brothers Cider was swiftly moved to second place as soon as I took a sip of that stuff on the Wednesday of 2015. On the Sunday I had about 3 pints of the stuff in the morning and it made me very emotional for Patti Smith.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
