Saw them in about 2004. I liked Hot Fuss at the time. I haven't heard that album for about 8 years now as Mr Brightside gets right on my nerves now. 

I might give it another listen and see what I think now.

Safe to say that The Killers and KOL will probably headline V every 3rd year on rotation until they are deemed suitable to play The Goodwood Festival.

The Killers in the New Tent in 2004 was incredible. On the Pyramid in 2005 they were good. Headlining in 2007 they were poor (the year of the wind-affected sound).

 

So based on that trajectory... Maybe best not?

I was off my tits. Saw the 1st bit of 2/3 of Swedish House Mafia. Decided they were crap so went and sat at the back of the field where the Killers were. I thought maybe I had been unfair to them 1st time as I saw them straight after Human League, Pixxie Lott and Happy Mondays. That was a tough trio to follow. I was right though, they are just a bit dull.

Had to look it up again... Love it when the lighting rig fails halfway through and everyone just carries on. I can't remember the last time I saw a crowd spilling out of the tent so far back, and this was long before there was a screen outside the tent down there.
