I've decided RTJ is the worst possible outcome for me and therefore concocted a bunch of reasoning as to why it'll be them.

Same genre as Tribe, right size and fit for WH headliner, fit well above .Paak, already on the lineup so no scurrying around for a replacement, good alternative to the other stages that night. Only thing is they'd then need replacing, but if they're mid-high Other it'll be easy to get in a random replacement for them such as The Kooks. If they're a JP headliner it'd be easy to bump up one of the big acts we already think are on JP (Crystal Fighters, DJ Shadow, Goldfrapp).

Tbh I hope now that Ice Cube has become such an easy replacement for them than there's no need to bother moving RTJ, even if it'd be annoying for me to miss Ice Cube.

Someone reassure me that they're not gonna move RTJ there.

Edit: I see Ice Cube is currently coming over purely for Roskilde. Guess it would make more sense for him to do the rest of Tribe's slots as opposed to coming over for just one show (not Parklife though as I think he did it last year?).

It's much more difficult in real life to swap acts about the line up than it is in your predictions. I think they're more likely to look outside the existing bill for an act. Or if they do get an act from the line up they'll perhaps get double duty going.

Ice Cube is maybe more likely but Roskilde are throwing headliner money at him so the relative pittance he'd receive for headlining a smaller stage at Glasto probs won't do - I bet it didn't last year.

It doesn't necessarily have to be like-for-like anyway. Bobby Womack in for The Weeknd is the most recent example of a WH replacement that we're completely aware of.

But as they'd never been announced, why would you announce they were cancelling? Just sort the replacement out and pretend that was the plan all along.

Well you'd assume they've been in contact with the festival over the cancellation so maybe they were told to not mention Glastonbury in the cancellation list? Gonna be fun trying to guess if the Friday WH headliner is a late replacement or were always in place.

From the festival's point of view, sure - but I dunno if a US act would be so precise with regards to which embargos were in place and which weren't.

Pretty sure they have agents and/or press officers who would check.

Maybe, maybe.  I know it's nothing certain, but it's a detail that might have been missed.

Either way, Ice Cube is in Europe Glasto weekend ish. And free.

Somebody get him on the phone immediately.

2 seconds of googling suggests that this is his "basketball tour":

There's a game on the 25th.....dunno what that means, if anything.

I dont know what that means either but theres a game on the 2nd July too which is the day after Roskilde.

So now I'm more confused.

What the fuck is a basketball tour? Does he rap at half time or something?

Q Tip obviously didn't write it himself.  That's why artists employ management...
