Great old documentary about Michael and the festival

No apologies needed, always happy to watch this one again.  One of the best Glastonbury documentaries and I have always been fascinated to see a little of the behind the scenes at a festival I attended, helps add to the experience.

Never seen this before, interesting stuff. Thought it was quite funny that in the documentary a young Emily is adamant that she won't take on the reigns

On a similar point there is a good 15/20 minute segment of footage in the extras to the Julian Temple film which essentially consists of Michael driving around the site in (I think) 2004/5 and giving an interview to Julian about the festival's development to that date. It ends with Michael back up at one of the festival offices asking someone for directions as he needs a pee! Very candid and a great insight.

 - Glastopia: Glastonbury After Hours

 - Glastonbury: The Movie

Can anyone think of any others?

Might squeeze in Festivals Britannia if I have time

Glastonbury Fayre for a bit of history is an obvious one missing from the list. Albeit the festival has changed beyond recognition since then.

 

You mention Glastonbury: The Movie - to me that could mean one of 3 -

- Glastonbury The Movie, shot at the 93 festival and released in 96.

- Glastonbury The Move In Flashback, a re-edited version of the same film, with quite a bit of different footage used.

- Glastonbury, the Julian Temple film shot over the course of several years and released in 2006.

Does anyone know if they have been filming for an updated version. Would be really interesting to see how the bookings happen and complications like Prince/The Who/ Foo Fighters were dealt with. Doubt they would want that released though.

There's 'The Udder Side of Glastonbury' as well that I think went out in 2013 IIRC. It was on BBC Three so was slanted to that audience so wasn't the best

Watched this documentary last night as I hadn't before. Thought it was really good though found it quite sad at times, definitely showed a side to Michael that many are unfamilliar with.

I think I did see this once a long time ago. I vaguely remember the neighbour listing all the drugs, and I also remembered Robert Plant. Great to re-watch it though. And so good to realize it is still going strong, after hearing Michael being quite unsure about the future at the end of the documentary. Thanks very much for posting @jalien01.  It even had a Waterboys song towards the end!

Does anyone have a link to watch or download this documentary?

I haven't been able to find it anywhere. It's maybe my favourite Glastonbury doc as I feel it really shows the heart and soul the Eavis family gave and still give to the wonderous place we all know and love
