Now I know you are made of stronger stuff than us mere mortals, but the Monday morning thing is mightily impressive. I would be in no fit state to pack up and still get to PGA for 8-ish. I am currently toying with the idea of packing up Sunday am and leaving it all at the PGA lock-up, and then following the same path as you.

I travel pretty lightly, Billy, and spend almost no time in my tent, really.

I'll aim to get to bed at 7-8am on Sunday morning and catch a couple of hours. Then I'll pack my rucksack (which will take about two minutes), sleeping bag and roll mat and all that will need doing on my return is to strike and pack the tent.

Then I'll get sorted for the day and head off to Sunday Band No.1.

I won't return to the tent/camp then until staggering back from the SEC (most likely) after they turn the decks off at 0500h and I've had a little weepy time for the end of the festival. Tent down, strap to already packed rucksack, onto shoulder and then the trek up to PGA for the 0830h coach.

Some people think I'm 'wrong' to have everything planned, but I'm an obsessive pack it all in and fill every moment person, so it works for me! I'll be alseep within 10 minutes on the coach and wake as we enter the heady delights of Birmingham!

Looking back through some of the posts it seems there are an awful lot of people on the 4am coach to Brum Monday morning. Quite a variety of leaving times but all the same return time.

I think I've counted 5 different departure times from Brum all with the same return time of 4am. I find that a little odd.

Hmmm.

makes me even more pleased that I took the ridiculous step of booking an additional 0830h National Express coach home!!

It will be to try and get as many people on the earlier coaches home as possible. Most people with early coaches have already stated they will wait for a later one rather than the time stated. I'm assuming they will have booked a set number of coaches for the day for each location, once a coach is full then it will actually set off.

Anyone missing their slot will have to join the scrum waiting for a coach at peak time. It's going to be a painful experience getting a coach to a popular location. Going to have to convince my mate that 6:30am is a good coach to be on.

Is that really true? I will be massively pissed off if I get to my 4:30am Brighton coach only to have to wait two hours for it to fill up - when I could have been enjoying more Glasto time.

And that's why we need the line-up, so we can see the first draft of the Benfinder!

(See you in the Temple Sunday night, if not before).

Think two hours would be an excessively long wait. At 4:30 they will have overbooked that coach to try and increase the likelyhood of being enough people to be on it. Think it will be worse if you get there and it's already full and gone, unless the coaches are already there which is highly likely considering some of the journey times needed.

The logistics of this is fascinating. There must be a dedicated coach layover not too far from the site with 100's of them waiting for us.

This is all making me want to book a NE return coach like Ben has.

I can't remember if there was the option to just book a one way coach when buying the combined coach and ticket package. If there was, I wish I'd just done that!

Got my times through the see tickets chat

Leaving from Liverpool at 6am

Back at 1:30pm

Delighted!

Nice!

I was consoling myself with at least having a later coach back after being given the late (12:00) coach there and then you come along with your best of both worlds mularkey! Jealous as hell, 'ere.

Out of interest, how quickly did you get your coach tickets? I'm wondering if they've filled them up on a first come, first served basis. I got my tickets after the sold out tweet was sent.

Usual caveats that I'm just delighted to be going etc.

I have mental images of them getting security to drag someone from the coach because they've overbooked and need to get a driver up the road to the Mitton Manor services.

This will be my 4th time on the coach and I have never left after 7am going, and never before midday coming back. I was horrified when I saw people post that their coach was leaving at midday and later! I think the coach gods must like me for some reason!

I've decided.  I'm not spending an extra £60 when I've already bought a coach ticket.  My options are:

  1. Be a pussy and go to bed early on Sunday to get up at 6:30 (no thanks).
  2. Pull a Ben-style all-nighter.  Well, I'm not a machine like the good doctor.
  3. Get whatever coach is headed my way whenever I get up.
  4. Failing no 3, get a train back.

To answer your question, according to see tickets our booking was made at 18:05, so 5 minutes within them going on sale. Maybe they are allocated first come first served, who knows!

Ben

When it comes to Glastonbury I too become a super organised version of myself! If only I could apply the same rigor to the rest of my life.

I am a bit confused because a couple of days ago we got our coach time which was 6.15 and we were v happy with that. Now Ive just logged on and checked again and its giving a later time of 09.15.  Hope it doesn't keep changing until confirmed!!  I know I can't do anything about it but why would this happen?

Had me worried there. Just checked and I am still on the 6.15 Wednesday from Taunton. If See would like to change my 6am Monday coach then I will be happy to oblige, but don't mess with my Wednesday.
