Ha that video is hilarious

However to bring discussions back to the topic of the thread, what we thinking re next announcement? Tomorrow? I think in one of the other threads (the self-confirmation thread comes to mind) part of the Glade area's set times were announced by one of the acts appearing. Glade announcement imminent?

Sadly I reckon that's next week now, from the 2nd half of the month comment that has been quoted.

Yeah it seems Glasto HQ don't seem to be too fussed re the leak otherwise I would have thought they would have released the Glade lineup by now.

Ive never got drum n bass at all. It sounds too slow to me. (Yes I know the bpm is 170) but people dance really slowly to it. Why?

Hard House is 20bpm slower, but people dance much much quicker and harder to it.

I think it's a northern thing. We have very few Drum n Bass nights up here. Ive tried, but after about 20 mins - Im bored.

It's getting bigger, well among the student type anyway. The last few years there's been an abundance of house/techo type nights but now there's loads of new garage/grime/drum n bass nights taking their place. Thank fuck I graduate this year, can't be dealing with that crap

Wondering if, now that Toad Hall came out last night, they are going to leave the really small stages to it for a week or if they even take them into account.

Where did the Toad Hall poster come from? Didn't see it officially announced or have I missed something?

They just put it out on Twitter, nothing on the Glastonbury site ir any of its social media. Still pondering whether to include it on TheThingy.

Ah I see, seems a bit unfair in a way not to get an official announcement.

I would include it, every piece of evidence must be fully examined.

Beat Hotel are usually pretty active on twitter before announcing aren't they?

Pretty sure I remember them announcing what drinks they'd be serving before their lineup was announced last year.

I could however be wrong...!

My point being they haven't posted anything since April 28th so if the above is correct can't see us getting anything too soon.

I wouldn't, unless GF 'formerly' announce it. That's what the ThingyTM is, isn't it?

Has TH ever had a 'proper' GF announcement?

What is this utter madness? It's lineup info. It belongs on The Thingy! Qualify it by saying that it was never publicised by TOS, but for the love of all things inexplicable, it must be included!

It's an announcement, albeit a quiet one, it is part of Glastonbury so it must go on the Thingy. Maybe they are hiding a pattern and without all the evidence we might miss it ;)

I stand corrected and duly, appropriately, admonished.

I'd like to say sorry to each and every one of you for my ludicrous, irrespnsible posting.

:sorry:

If we start selectively adding info to the Thingy, the whole thing falls apart! We can't discriminate between announcements, no matter how big or small.

Add it!

    • Doesn't surprise me. West Yorkshire had a vote if they wanted a mayor in 2012 and voted no. The government then ignored the vote and announced the position anyway in 2016.

    • Also agree, it does feel that there isn’t much between the Mercury Prize and the Brit Awards these days.   This part sums it up for me “The complaint isn’t so much about the quality of the music, but more the disappearance of spaces for outsider voices in British music. With streaming algorithms feeling increasingly geared towards big names, and social media acting as a minefield, the Mercury’s pivot to the mainstream closes another door in the face of creative independence.”
