Glastonbury coaches

first timer here for the festival, could anyone let me know whether the National Express coaches tend to get all booked up in advance? Looking to get down via the coach from Edinburgh on Tuesday night but if they all sell out I can't afford any other travel method really  cheers x

They tend to have more than one coach per time slot, so usually they won't sell out just yet. I got a return from Manchester last year a few weeks after the resale so some time in April, and there were most times still available. Still better to get them early as possible to be sure.

I would have thought so. How about calling them and asking them

from memory there is a group of people on here hire a mini bus and split the cost and all go down together from Glasgow. I think it's the Boilerman , have a search on Boilerman or Boilerbus on here and you may get lucky if the minibus is happening again

Just to note: they add more coaches when the sell out so don't be disheartened if they appear sold out, check back in a week. We looked to book coaches from Leeds for Glastonbury 2016 in around November 2015, and they had already sold out! But some more got addded, I guess due to demand)

Will it be much cheaper to buy them now or am I okay to wait until after I've paid for my ticket?

I can't ever remember NE putting up their prices to the festival once they've been announced. Especially as fuel prices look to be dropping over the coming months.

They've already done it once this Festival..

I booked coaches before Christmas..

A single from Bristol to the Festival cost me £19.80, it's now gone up to £21.50.

A single from the Festival to Nottingham cost me £48.40, it's now £52.50.

Might be worth a quick check on Easyjet, Edinburgh or Glasgow to Bristol. I`ve paid £90 ( return ) with See Coaches and 29 quid once for a flight from Glasgow to Bristol then about a tenner on a bus to the fest. The coach took 9 hours :drinks:

We get the coach down from Glasgow, I don't mind it, especially the way down with it being overnight, the way home will never get any easier, that's self inflicted though. A couple from our group are flying down this year, they were about £90 return Glasgow>Bristol, which isn't terrible

Aye I realise I got a real bargain with that flight ( £29 ). I got a bus down from Glasgow on the Thursday in 2013. Mrs C had to work so it was me and our 2 youngest who were 8 at the time. We left at 6am I think,  9 hours, a few beers and many games of cards with the folks on the bus who were great with the boys. We drove down last year. Boring as f*ck compared to the bus :)

We considered driving this year, there's enough of us to take 3 cars and most drive, so would all be able to take turns, but the bus is just so easy, G Sq straight to Gate A and the same home, we went for coach tickets and got them again, so it's much easier. I went via Manchester last year, what a ballache that was

Blimey, that's a bit much. Wonder how they justify that with the fuel prices dropping so much?

Honestly, it's best to spend a few weeks keeping an eye on prices.  Last year the journey prices for differing timeslots kept varying, if you timed your purchase right you could halve the price of your journey, I opted for the cheapest time of day on the Monday to return (5:30pm) and then hopped into an empty space on a half full coach departing earlier.

Does anybody know when the times are allocated for those who bought coach/ticket packages? We're going from Liverpool on the Wednesday but have never gone by coach before.

Id like to know this aswell since I'm going from the exact same place. From what i heard it gets updated on your purchase on the seetickets festival probably around the time the ticket payment gets processed in april (id assume around that time). But even if no one is sure on this you can keep checking your purchase on seetickets every few week and see when it updates.

Just reading on the ticket info part on the Glasto website:

– Where departure times are not stated, you must be available to travel at any point (AM/PM) during the specific day you have selected.
– All departure times / points will be released to you no later than 30 days prior to the event.
– In order to facilitate a speedy departure from the Festival site, See Coaches reserve the right to board passengers outside of scheduled departure times, should seats be available on alternative services.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
