A friend of mine (who we are going to Glastonbury with) was told by a music promoter friend of his that he's had it on "good authority" that Radiohead are subbing Adele.

I have absolutely no idea how reliable any of the sources are here, but I thought I would share.

Really hope that source doesn't trace back to one of Neil's and that it's fresh info!

Neil sure has been conspicuous by his absence from this thread over the last few days B)

well that's all the convincing i need :D

but yes, like everybody else, i sure do hope that good authority isn't just Neil's best guess from on here

just a couple more weeks until we find out for sure!

This would be an example of a set they'd play if it were alphabetical. It'd be really weird. Can't imagine them ending with Weird Fishes.

15 Step

Airbag

Bloom

Bodysnatchers

Burn the Witch

Daydreaming

Deck’s Dark

Everything in its Right Place

Feral

Ful Stop

Identikit

Idioteque

Lotus Flower

The National Anthem

Nude

The Numbers

Paranoid Android

The Present Tense

Reckoner

Street Spirit (Fade Out)

There There

True Love Waits

Weird Fishes/Arpeggi

It's all wrong isn't it?  Even if they just dropped Weird Fishes and stuck in another song, (Myxomatosis between Lotus Flower + National Anthem??).  Nah, they don't strike me and being so married to high concept.  I reckon it just lined up well this time and they only had to fiddle with the names a tiny bit to make it all fit, so went with it.

To do this new album justice it would have to be on the Pyramid stage and I think a sub slot perhaps as the sun (Hopefully!!!) is going down would be absolutely amazing. I really can't see them playing in a small tent late at night as it would be absolute chaos and I'm pretty sure the festival wouldn't want to put people at risk. They will do what the Libertines did last year,  a surprise unannounced slot on the Pyramid.

The album is stunning, truly stunning!!!

I can't see them playing the main stage unless it's a headline slot. I just don't think they play this year.

is what we'd all be currently thinking if Neil wasn't hearing (from multiple sources?) that they're booked to play this year as well as numerous other factors making it look like it could just happen

What page is this info? I seem to have missed it

Looking at all of this, from the outside, not as a fan, it really seems like the end of an era. Reissue of old albums, that daydreamer video, the old tape around the deluxe vinyl, the fading away of the online presence, the fact that some of this album is made up of songs going back 20 years. It's a tidying up, a clearing out.

Neil (guy who runs this site) has mentioned throughout this thread that a usually reliable source (same guy who has informed him about Radiohead playing/not playing in previous years) has told him that they are booked to play this year, although he's not sure where, and for reasons unknown (but Neil has his reasons) he seems to now think that subbing Adele is looking likely (although he's not 100% at all on that one, but it makes sense as them playing anywhere smaller would be a huge safety hazard as it was when they did a secret set in 2011). it could all prove to be bollocks, but along with Loaded Magazine believing Disclosure are headlining Other and not subbing the Pyramid (leaving a Pyramid sub slot free) it looks like it might just be true

christ when you mention it all like that it certainly does seem a little telling. i really hope that's not what they're hinting at (and they've always gone back to old songs and recorded them for albums years and years later so that one can be scratched off i guess, although there's something different about True Love Waits this time round...) but if they did decide to end after this album they've done a good job of wrapping everything up

That gave me butterflies FF.

I doubt RH will ever call it a day. They are good friends and have unbelievable chemistry as musicians. They might take an extended break but they are a band that I believe will hit the studio again once they have the ideas and feel like they have something meaningful to say.

this rollercoaster ride of 'will they/won't they' has gone on so long now that i've just decided to roll with it. they're playing. it's on. 1 hour 30 sub/co-headline slot. let's go

Great positive attitude, FF.

I've blown so much smoke up your arse for your PMA thus that we could use it to train fire fighters.

But, yes: well done and some sort of medal to you, dude.

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
