3 listens in and so far I think it's amazing. Properly fucking amazing. If it remains at this same level for me after lots more listens then it's up there as one of their best. I really was expecting it to be their worst album other than TKOL and Pablo.

FUCKING WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKING FFFFFUCK?

So I've sat here after fucking about trying to download the album for ages...like fucking AGES...pissing about with payment details, passwords and shit...(I sound like Guy now old sons)...finally sort it it...listen to it...in full, 3 times:

Oooo, lovely strings and shit...vocals very much in the background...hushed...cripes...more strings, well done Johnny, etc:

'Ah. So their new thing is it's all instrumental...no Thom singing...'

THIS ISN'T CLEVER! IT'S SHIT! FUCKING SHIT!

Nope. Hang on Woffy. It ALWAYS takes you a while to 'get' every new RH album. You've blathered on about this on efests enough...don't mouth off yet.

Nope. Fuck this! No singing!???!!!! Fuck this.

FUCK THIS ACTUAL SHIT SHIT!

*strops off for a bit, much sulking....................must try again*

Tries again.

Hasn't downloaded properly.

Can suddenly now hear Thom. All fucking over everything.

It's beautiful. Isn't it?!

*sighs contentedly*

Christallfuckingthankfuckforthatmighty.

Carry on. X

Have an upvote for making me spit coffee all over my iPad!

Really enjoy the album, after 4 listens I can't remember anything about Tinker... I'm going to say that's the weak link then

I'm not even sure there is a weak link. The strings in Tinker... are incredible!

Aye. I said 3 or so hours ago that Desert Island Disk wasn't connecting with me which is already a load of pish.

I'd never heard True Love Waits before, it's only big fans that would've bothered so not at all pointless to put it on there.

I thought the album sounded pretty nice. Nothing particularly stood out for me in the way that it did when I first listened to Kid A or In Rainbows though. I'd also point out the distinction that I'm someone who prefers The King of Limbs to OK Computer so maybe not the most typical of fans.

i'm so happy that TKOL is no longer Radiohead's most recent release and so can no longer be used as a 'they haven't done anything good in ages' decider. i doubt this will be their last album - i just can't see them bowing out like that - but if it was, what an album to go out on

It just feels rediculous I can't get over how great it actually is, at this point I don't want sleep I just want to listen to the album on constant repeat.

The run of Identikit, The Numbers & Present Tense is just mind blowing stuff.

seen a lot of 'their best album since Kid A's being thrown about, and though the album is undeniably strong, did these people not listen to In Rainbows!?

and they've like... got to have a string section or something accompanying them when touring this, right? almost every song is absolutely jam packed with huge orchestration. must've been something to those rumours way back when the Roudhouse shows got announced

2018 is the fallow year

Well I mean that doesn't make much sense since Kid A isn't even their best album since Kid A.

I may have had a few but f*ck it - will put my neck out.  In 20 years time, this will be seen as a masterpiece up there with Ok Computer and Kid A.

And In Rainbows.

You can't have two without the third. Everything in its right place remember.

    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
    • Can't see Bimble line up anywhere - am I being dense and missing an obvious release somewhere?
    • Not expecting a tour imminently but Peter Gabriel would fit the vibes magnificently.
    • I have but a very long time ago and can remember nothing about it at all. Which I suppose is a review of sorts
    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.
