BA4 4BY
I thought I'd got away with it this year but on Thursday the big toe on my left foot started to go numb, although it's nowhere near as full-on as in previous years. I wore a variety of walking shoes / walking boots / insoles / socks combinations throughout the week (no wellies), but I still don't seem to have found the answer! Anyone else suffering with Glastonbury Toe, or if you've had it before but haven't got it this year, what did you do differently?
verrymerry
Not yet, I'd forgotten about this annual ailment!
Tuna
came into the thread hoping you'd misspelled 'tor'
mrlibertinedream
Get it every year, takes around 2 to 3 weeks to get normal feeling back it toe
greenArmy12
Wow I didn't know this was actually a thing, I was sticking a pin in the end of my big toe today as I have no feeling in it! Occasionally I get a few tingles
Neville Street
Invested in new insoles this year. Mixture of boots and Birkenstocks this year. Much less problem, didn't suffer at all until Wednesday when I went back to work, but still a slight tingle/numbness in left toe today. Way better than last year, and I reckon it'll be back to normal in a week or so. Will keep an eye on this thread!!
Bisque
I stupidly didn't change my socks all weekend. Toes are fine but I have massive blisters all over the soles of my feet that have only started getting better. I'm an idiot
Leggins
Bad move Couchy. Clean socks are the key to happiness at Glastonbury for me. Suffered with glastonbury toe every year but not this one. I kind of miss that numb feeling a little.
budvar
Couple of the smaller toes on my right foot this year; enjoying the variety
Bisque
Bad move Couchy. Yeah I know, first time single, being lazy, my own fault.
FuzzyDunlop
Only get it from wearing wellies for days on end. I only had them on Friday and Saturday morning. (I missed the start of slaves in the John Peel to go back and put trainers on) So no real glastonbury toe. My feel did hurt for a few days later though
Mardy
First time in ages i've not got it, but i didnt wear wellies all weekend. I'm a firm convert to walking boots, well sort of bulky trainers really
The Nal
Walking boots all week for me for the first time, walked as much as I have any other time too and feet were fine. Never wear wellies again.
CaledonianGonzo
Welcome to the Comfy Side. I mean, I still get numb feet for the first day or two back, but I'm still never taking wellies.
deardo
This is so weird, didn't realise this is a common issue. Left big toe, still numb.
alibear
Yep, get it every year. The ends of both my big toes are a bit numb. Forget about this little ailment every year until it happens! I only wore wellies for two days so am pretty surprised. I think they're coming to the end of their lives so might invest in some walking boots for next year. georgiebeans
Still have a numb left big toe and weird brown ink blot type things on the bottom of my right foot. New wellies required next year (or less dancing)!
srb
Yeah my right big toe still numb, kinda weird. Thought I was the only one
Cheesey
I've had this every year since about 2011. Both my big toes are a bit numb again this year, but they're nowhere near as bad as previous years. Some years it has taken several months for them to go back to normal. Basically it's nerve damage due to walking too much in shoes that aren't really designed for it (wellies are by far the worst). I'm vaguely worried that eventually they'll just stay numb all year round. Edited July 6, 2015 by Cheesey
helen-8
No numb toes for me but I did suffer with itchy heels every time I took my socks & boots off - this is the first time this has happened to me...weird!
Bonneville88
Mate has this, my feet are in great condition somehow. Didn't even put socks on until the Friday afternoon. Saw some people stood barefoot in the mud queuing for toilets/water on the Saturday morning - why the bastard would you do this? One way ticket to trench foot. fur_q
Probably just mild nerve inflammation that will sort itself out given a bit log time, I've beer experienced this despite being a wellies wearer, of the people who have, do you do much walking outside of the festival? marktea
Yup, left big toe for me too!Was worse last year (wore wellies more) and took over six months to go. Only wore walking boots this year and its not so bad so I'm hoping it will clear up more quickly. Will give trainers a try if I can next year.
