Sleep Deprivation

I really struggle with it. Wether it be at Glastonbury or just a normal Weekend. Doesn't matter if I goto bed at 9pm or 5am I am awake again at 7 and really struggle to go back too sleep.

Being at Glastonbury can make it worse with everything going on (albeit in the Camper fields)

Can imagine it is tough down in the camping areas.

Any non class A drug related tips.

Luckily I'm the opposite and generally can't go to sleep early but want to sleep in late, my only real advice is that if you find you can't sleep try to just stay laying down and relax as much as you can and not get stressed about not sleeping. I find tend to find this almost as recuperating as sleep but you really need to be able to really relax and stop worrying about not sleeping. Perhaps if you're the type of person that as able to really relax with well chosen music then taking an iPod with a carefully selected playlist might hep you when you find you can't sleep.

Not sure it will go down too well with anxiety

If anxiety is a factor, I'd recommend this cd.

THE WELLBEING RELAXATION CD for stress anxiety panic disorder, very effective sleep aid. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0081JUYP8/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Zu6wvb14BMKRF

Everyone who suffers from anxiety is different, of course, but I've found it very helpful.

I averaged 2 hours a night last year (but caught it up with a solid 13 hours when i got home). I put it down to the fact i don't drink and so am not numb to light, heat, camping on a steep hill all played a part. I guess at least one of these could be affecting you, so prep to eliminate all external stimuli.

On the plus side though, you get to experience more Glastonbury than all those who sleep :)

You could try first generation antihistamines - they're highly drowsy and are now marketed as sleeping pills. Boots sell them over the counter.

Not sure, but I suspect the half life would be sufficient to put you out until late morning if you take one at 5am.

is it because of the brightness and noise at 7am?

maybe a soft eye mask, and ear plugs?

I really need sleep and too struggle with the stupid body clock waking me up regardless, I use the above and find it helps though.

I average 2 hours per day. I feel I'm missing out on so much if I sleep. Generally get back to camp at 0530 but can't sleep past 0730. As soon as the bladder wakes me up, I'm up and can't get back to sleep. I'm one of those that wanders the site before my mates wake up.

Proper prescription grade sleeping pills, I take a couple of strips with me every year, even only having 4-5 hours sleep on them a night you wake up feeling great. You feel like you've been asleep about 20 minutes but they really take the edge off the hangover/comedown combo

I'm with you on that , I like a wander by myself in a morning while the wife gets ready, best thing in a morning is to get up and get moving

Cheers guys.

I'm properly tuned into my work pattern that weekends suffer because of it..wake up and the minds buzzing.

Will be just the same at Glastonbury. More so because I will be almost instantly planning/ anxious about where to.go, the weather, breakfast, don't forget this, don't forget that etc

    • As someone that always likes looking at this stuff, compare the BBC opening titles...     ... and the ITV ones.     Tbf the BBC intro is better than the ones they used for the last World Cup, which I thought were pretty bad and on its own, the BBC choice actually isn't too bad. It's not as good as their pinball one for the last Euros, but the concept is reasonable. But let's be real, the ITV one is better.
