We had people who stole our chairs out of our porches..with drinks still in the holders everytime we left camp...

They were from l*******l to say the least and we kept having to ask for our chairs back..which to them seemed to inconvenient them massively

I've never really had bad neighbours at Glastonbury. I think my lot are guilty of staying up all night talking and having a laugh but no one has complained (bar one incident*) - in fact a bloke last year came up to us at about 10am and thanked us for keeping him awake all night with our talking because he said it was hilarious listening to our conversation. And he actually meant it.

* This complaint was from a group of young women who asked us to stop talking at midnight. I mean midnight FFS. Not exactly rock and roll. You could tell it was their first Glastonbury and also that mommy and daddy probably dropped them off at the start of the festival and would be collecting them at the end. Their campsite during the festival was a heap of shit with all the litter etc, and as suspected they left all their belongings on the Monday morning. The whole area that they had occupied was like a disaster zone. So I don't feel too badly about disturbing their beauty sleep.

Last year my neighbours had a Christmas party with decorations, secret santa and all the shit. That was really weird.

They weren't really annoying apart from the days they decided to have all night long parties. What's the point on going to glasto if you're gonna have a "house party" every night? plus good part of them spent the entire day drinking in front of their tent.

I felt safe at least.

It was an immense group and they said they've been to Glastonbury for the last 10 years or so and its the only time of the year they get to see each other. Not my way to enjoy the festival with friends i barely see, but it's a quite nice story to be honest

That's the kind of situation where I imagine spending more time at the tent, if it's old friends you don't get chance to see very often.

That is AWESOME though.

I don't think we've ever had a truly awful neighbour. There was a snorer one year who was absolutely ridiculously loud even though I'd worked out he was several tents away.

And in 2003 there was HENRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and his mates who drank their way through a BOTTLE OF ABSINTHE on the first night and composed a song about it, guitar and all. It was hilarious but SO LOUD. The next morning at about 7am I headed out of my tent to go to the loos and realised Henry was face down, half-in, half-out of his tent, still clutching the (now empty) absinthe bottle. Honestly thought he was dead, but thank fuck he moved. Didn't hear a peep from them for the rest of the weekend - think they were still coping with their Thursday hangovers on Sunday...

As much as I want to camp in a quiet part of Glastonbury, avoid the noise and get a good nights kip when I need it, it's not as funny and memorable as camping next to complete annoying idiots. (In hindsight of course...)

In 2004 a group that referred to themselves as the Weymouth Posse decided to spray paint my tent for no reason.

They also fenced off an unnecessarily large space for their camp and shouted "ALARM! ALARM! ALARM!" if anyone tried to walk through their camp. That wore pretty thin very quickly.

I either get very lucky with my neighbours, don't spend enough time awake at my tent to be able to judge my neighbours or am the obnoxious neighbour. Probably a mix of all three. I also only try to sleep when the site is at its quietest and the only people awake are either too sensible or too fucked to make too much noise.

Sure, I don't have the best of neighbours, but who does? You should hear the mouth on me when I'm drunk, let alone when I wake up half drunk/half hungover and pissed off with something, according to everyone else, irrelevant.

If you exclude all of the above behaviours from a festival, you would end up sitting in a field on your own.

(I have no idea why i had a look at this thread - I usually avoid the ones i know are going to piss me off=my own fault)

Give and take, live and let live - i bet your a pain in the arse as well.

We had a group of about 15 Welsh guys joking about pay day loans for duration- it was pretty funny at first but got a bit testing by 8am day 4.

What's funny about payday loans?

I can't think of a single payday loans joke, let alone 5 day's worth...

Can I apologise for my cousin's snoring in advance.

Never known bad neighbours (edit, bugger, I must be the bad neighbour), but last year had an annoying group of young twats trying to sit on us in our flimsy camp chairs and swipe our booze. Only time I've been annoyed at Glastonbury.

There's plenty funny about them if you're one of the proud "lol lefty whiners my dad earned his money so why shouldn't I inherit it Glasto is well full of Tories, yeah?" crowd that popped up recently in the general election threads.

I'm just wondering - do you think the current inheritance tax should be raised to that where the state takes 100% of a persons estate when they die?

Guys in the tent beside us playing Clash songs all night on acoustic guitars without worrying whether anyone was trying to sleep.

When I went over to complain I noticed it was actually Joe Strummer and Mick Jones. That made me even more annoyed.

I properly tore a strip off them and after a brief struggle I even managed to chuck one of their guitars on the fire.

Not a peep out of them for the rest of the weekend :)

Guys in the tent beside us playing noodly keyboards songs and reciting terrible poetry all night without worrying whether anyone was trying to sleep.

When I went over to complain I noticed it was actually Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek. That made me even more annoyed.

I properly tore a strip off them and after a brief struggle I even managed to drown one of them in a bathtub.

Not a peep out of them for the rest of the decade.

Hopefully you will camp next to Chris Martin this year.

Yes. Although unlike many on here, I have nothing against people with money, or posh accents/names. But yes, inheritance tax should be far higher than today. Maybe even 100%

earplugs don't cut out the bass though, as I found out in 2013...

last year the doofus next to me made me take down my tent and move it about 5cm to the left as it was apparently too close to his...

I think that person would have been told to mellow the fuck out.

I've pitched up late Friday before & sqeezed in practical over lapping tents & still made polite convo with neighbours without it being mentioned.

I'm going to assume that was there first & last festival if proximity of other tents is a beef for them then there's a million other things that must bother them.
