I wonder if its staying now until the festival, or just a practice run ?

That will be it up until after the festival now. They usually start towards the end of April but must have felt it was time after the fallow.

Just done a little searching around for dressing dates.

2000: 7th June (framework build started on 24th May)

2008: Pre 6th June
2009: 3rd June (side closest to camera had gone up so probably started 2nd June)
2010: 27th May
2011: 19th May

2013: Unknown
2014: 9th May
2015: Pre 16th May (No webcam images from before then)
2016: 10th May
2017: 21st April

Depends how many can’t resist the temptation to play some air guitar on the greatest stage in the world rather than getting on with their work.

I'd challenge anyone who takes the time to go there not to do that or at least shout "Hello Glastonbury" at the top of your lungs to a field of cows.....just like I did in August gone

Did you shout "Glaston Brie", or american style "Glaston Berry"?

Always the "Brie"

I'm planning on going there in 3 weeks time before the fence goes up to try again, I may go for a Janet Jackson shout out this time "Hello London"

If I was standing at the big pointy bastard, I'd be berrying it all the way!

You could always go for the other less utilised version of "Glaston - Burry"

I can imagine you belting out the american style version just like the Killers will on the Saturday night and their famous front man "Brandon Two Hats"

Is it just the rotating BBC webcam that's available, I am a bit out of the loop but seem to remember there were some fixed point ones too or am I making that up?

Think you are talking about this url

It rotates on the BBC Glasto website ?

Ah.  I getcha. Apologies @coma girl.  There was previously a low-res camera that rotated to take shots from three different positions. The fixed one at:

https://panodata2.panomax.com/cams/879/recent_full.jpg

is simply a higher resolution version of what you see at https://www.bbc.co.uk/music/festivals/glastonbury/webcam.  Strictly speaking the camera isn't rotating, it's just panning across a static image that gets updated periodically, but I'd forgotten all about the beeb's feed - I always use the big one.

I wonder if it'll be off for a lot of the time this year, since they have lots of surprises they won't want us to see just yet:  new Arcadia, Glastonbury-on-Sea, and new Block 9

This would be a bit gutting, but probably the right move really. As much as I'm loving the buildup and snippets get me excited, it'd probably be better to keep them as a surprise and see them for the first time in the flesh...

    • If anyone spots any new tour posters on site could they share them please? Hoping for ADTR and Electric Callboy tours
    • It completely depends on how that count is done   if it’s individuals entering the arena each day, over the whole weekend, it was at 30% capacity and in no way one of the highest attended festivals in the UK   it was in no way as low as 30% though so that can’t be the measure, so as a number, with no context, “90,000” is meaningless.   Only one category of Leeds ticket seems to have moved on to second tier pricing at this point. I don’t think this is necessarily a sales indicator as much as a method to keep prices up north lower than down south but with this and the anecdotal video evidence, it’s clear Leeds has been nowhere near its capacity (of 90,000/ day) the last 2-3 years
    • £56 - £118 was the price range.   Which for an arena show, dare I say it, felt "okay" in this environment.
    • I’m sure someone said on here months back that they self confirmed at one of their gigs, like late last year
    • Yeah Kurt Vile keeps growing on me more and more. DCFC I found solid enough but relatively forgettable unfortunately.
