Still no sign of the new John Peel.

Assuming of course that it wouldn't be completely obscured by the trees.

Last year John Peel went up on the morning of the 14th June, not sure if it comes in from another festival (i.e. Isle of Wight?) hence it being up later than others. But you may be right that the angle of the webcam may not capture it.

Good. Let's not use up June's quota of good weather too quickly.

Although it is a bit depressing to see.

It is odd weather, just hanging mist - doesnt look wet at all. I would be happy with that in 2 weeks time.

For anyone interested, this is what the site looked like on this date last year...

Just used this picture to show my friends who are coming for the first time this year how big the festival it is. Always amazes me how far that fence goes....

What's even more amazing is how this picture doesn't even capture the entire site!

Crazy, isn't it? I don't think even this picture does the size of Glastonbury justice, though. I remember the first year I went I was walking around in amazement.

Having said that - I still walk around in amazement...

A small white tent has appeared towards gate A.  Any got any idea what it is?  Actual entrance? welfare tent?  looking at one of the detailed site maps i'm guessing its a welfare tent

Last year there was a info point, lock up and also Breakfast Club over there, so it will be for that bunch of things.

    • I feel like it's not COMPLETELY beyond the realm of possibility that they could headline but I just don't see it.    They're not doing anything other than headlining. So nah, I don't see it.
    • Consider that the sound quality can be better near the front bars right behind the soundbooth rather than closer to the stage, like with mbv. And of course, the front sections are full of talkers too.   The most courteous move would be to have conversations in the very back of the field.
    • I mean...I do think it all needs more regulation, but god knows how when it's all so global...but there's so much stuff on there that is messing with our little minds. But also, he has given these companies till September, and well...he'll surely be gone by then. I think social media ban for under 16s will likely happen, but I think regulating it for everyone is better. It's the not the kids we should be worried about, it's all those middle aged doom scrolling keyboard warriors like me.
    • I agree the prices are tough for locals. You can see if Porto timetable is the type that works for you and it's a terrific city. Also cheaper. https://www.primaverasound.com/es/porto/lineup-porto
