Wait so.... If a band play twice one year that makes them unlikely to play the following year?

Depends on the band. If you're talking about Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs, it makes no difference at all.

Chemical brothers likely to be back this year? Would be a great alternative for me. I need to see them at some point! Seem likely that we may see Faithless on the poster somewhere too?

No chance at all of the chems I'm afraid doug, not after their prestigious slot last year.

Bugger! Don't think i can bring myself to get tickets for any of the other festivals they maybe doing. Parklife is the only thing that may come close but the rest of the lineup doesn't have an awful amount that would appeal. Plus i'm in Manchester the week after for The Stone Roses. Looks like another year without seeing the chemical brothers for me!

Watch those, see if you think they are chin strokers.

I get why they are not for everyone at times, but live - there will be something for a lot of people.

The first song I can hardly hear so will go have a look at Youtube. The second one is not for me. The crowd are just stood there. That is not my idea of fun really but each to their own.

I want this after I have been on the lash all day.

What's the latest on these Stone Roses warm up gigs that were mentioned the other day, out of interest?

Interested in getting the jump on anything happening in Stoke (or Notts if that's where the 'one other' is :P

I have not heard a dickie bird more mate. Looking at the Roses forums there is a lot of apprehension regarding the 4th of March. The word is that they will be announcing an ep. It is like the Radiohead thread on here, on there. One minute everyone is ecstatic and then the depression sets in. I can understand really as the Roses have not put out any new music for 21 years.

Looks like scenes you'd witness during a particularly spirit-filled evening at my church

I am not religious mate but by the sounds of it, I would probably like your church :-)

Are we still allowed bacon sarnies if Tim Booth turns out to be the Second Coming? And will his sermons be, like, totally overpriced?

Hang on. What sort of 'spirits'? I'm in a state of quasi-evangeli-spiritual befuddlement, Quinner.

There can only be one spirit which brings ageing middle-class white people out into spontaneous bursts of determinedly in-time clapping, James gigs can evidently be added to the Strictly Come Dancing list of events where it happens but probably shouldn't. Praise be to him.

2 middle class white guys have called their band "Slaves".

It's a good name.

As in "the middle aged white guy slaves over trying to complete his latest brokers report for his client due to the late bullish FTSE market results".

Just having a think about Neil's snippet yesterday that Adele is pretty much nailed on, however she's not 100% decided if she wants to go on last.

If she didn't, and if for whatever reason the dream is over and Radiohead won't be there, are we potentially still looking at a wildcard as as a co-headliner alongside A-dizzle?

Today's 'Clutching at Straws' is brought to by the letter S

Criminy. I can't believe it took me a day or so to hear that was actually a thing. Radiohead thread should be roaring.

This was before he heard the 'no Radiohead UK festivals' bit. True me - for a bit there we had Radiohead nailed on to headline with Adele subbing

    • I got super early bird too....i was that chuffed i ticked a couple of the charity contribution boxes
    • I would be very surprised as well if they are are European Festivals and Werchter isn't one of them. They have done Roskilde before but with big gaps   They have done NOS once and they have done Mad Cool once while playing 3 times at Werchter during the period Mad Cool has ran.
    • Whole thing seems a bit sus to me.
    • wtf. Those Moroccons in Cueta can't just go into EU anyway, they would need to go through further checks before Schengen.
