"Dust" sufferers, I don't mean this faseaciously but what exactly do you find difficult to deal with when the ground is dusty? And would you genuinely prefer mud instead? No offence intended.

Personally I hate the sticky, dusty dirty feel u get with loads of dust..it dries me right out. And I struggle with breathing a bit to be honest.

Would much prefer it dry but just enough rain early on too eliminate the dust settled.

Sorry for double post

Biffy played 2010

Was at that secret set & was full on lying on the ground reading the Glasto paper in the shade by the sound stage whilst Sornoway were on.

Definitely wasn't wet!

Third down on Pyramid in 2011

Phew... thought I was going mad!

Lovely to see that the Met Office has just predicted a three-month heatwave starting mid-this-week - that covers Glasto weekend comfortably! Couldn't be better news!!

Other than FM or P***** for Sunday

The worst thing about 2010 was the heat in the tent from about 6am onwards. It was just difficult to get any sleep at all. Shattered

I just kind of slept half out of my porch & chatted to my mates for an hour or two before cracking open the warmest cider in the world.

I tried sleeping with my head out the door but there was no escape!

Clouds until 11am please, then the sun can put its hat on!

Really muddy is best - reduces the number of heat-magazine-reading tourists trying to get tickets because they can't bear the idea of getting their hunter wellies and topshop poncho dirty.

That said, 2010 was bloody marvellous.

I get hayfever and so when the ground is dusty that means the air gets dusty too. This makes my hayfever worse. it makes my eyes and nose itch and is a total pain! Even taking medication doesn't always help. Just because some people do not like dust that doesn't mean they like mud. I'm pretty sure that no one likes mud at Glastonbury! What I do like though is the odd rain shower if it's a hot weekend just to settle things down a bit.

That's a good point actually. With 2017 being the fallow year, the demand next year will be crazily high I imagine. So if it was to be a 2007 repeat (although it won't!) this is the ray of light I will be taking from it b

i dont like the intense heat of a really hot festival, its just uncomfortable and you have to be really careful with hats and suncream just to avoid getting burnt. Walking around can be a real struggle and sleeping past 8am is difficult.

sunny spells / cloudy but not cold is my preference, with no rain of course!!

I think I look back on 2010 more fondly now than I did at the time. The lack of shade anywhere was really pissing me off by Friday! However I'd do it all over again this year (please!).

Last year was a bit too muddy for me, as was 2011 - 2013 was a pretty good mix though.

I'm probably being really stupid here, but what are the main issues that came along with 2010's "dust"?

EDIT: to add to the convo, last year was my first time at Glasto and the weather from friday to sunday afternoon was an eye opener.

Wednesday and Thursday were beaut though, first thing me and my friend did was go and grab an oggie and sit on the grass looking across the Other stage field.

exactly.

a bit of cloud keeps things warmer at night, but cool in the morning.

too much sun is shit as it's boiling in the morning and freezing at night and being covered in suncream is manky after 12 hours.

rain is shit.

cloudy with sunny spells and no wind is clearly the best weather.
