We always like to make a theme, in the past when we have done it with the young uns we did scooby doo and the gang at Rockness, Star Wars characters at Leeds fest, it was just the 2 of us at g last year and the thunderbirds theme just couldn't be ignored, it was roasting the sunday so they didn't stay on long tho

There has been some talk of a Black Tie Thursday for my group, will be my friends honeymoon of sorts so we were talking about getting dressed up and having Pie Minister on the Thursday (Pie Minister being their wedding caterers) I always spend far too much money on daft hats and clothing on the Wednesday of every festival I have been to.

There's a few key things to remember with fancy dress....

1) it could be hot

2) it could be wet

3) it could be hot and wet

4) you need to go to the loo without it dropping all over the floor/toilet/having to undress

5) you need to be able to eat/drink/sit down without having to undress

We do fancy dress rather than "normal" these days and its amazing what tat you can get in your rucksack!

But get creative, you don't have to be a recognizable character or object!

I've never done the dressing up thing, but have considered it a couple of times. My thinking has always been that I only carry as much as I need, so it's just additional stress on the way there and back that I don't need.

Its a mate and mines 22nd birthday on the sunday of the fest this year. So for some stupid reason, we have both decided to get two Mr Blobby suit's.. Despite the fact it'll be very warm, awkward to pee and drink... it should be a laugh!! I'll probably have it on for about an hour and get to warm and take it off though. But if you see two Mr Blobbys walking around site it'll be us!!

Don't worry about the heat of a costume. After a while you get climatised to it and it's fine.....

Probably. I went to Bestival last year wearing a papier-mache Wilson Volleyball costume. Which doubled up as being double awesome because it was Red and White because UP THE SCUMMERS!!!!
